For comparison. Duquesne’s OL had ONE guy right at 300lbs. They averaged 6’3 280lbs. LSU puts out a completely different animal this Sunday.

Someone avg out Duquesne’s defensive line and ours. I don’t feel like it but I know it will be a monster difference.

Duquesne DL: 6’3 285 average
LSU DL: 6’4.5 283 average

Was surprised they were heavier but their roster site could be lying cause they didn’t look as big as advertised

Weight doesn't mean that much if they don't play as a unit. If it did we'd forklift Thomas (350) out there, Shorts (340) wouldn't have been benched, and Wire (295) wouldn't be starting. It's way more about how they fit within the whole.

I think with our nutrition plan, as emphasized by Kelly, we got rid of the fat 320 pounders and now we have leaner 320 pounders

They are shorter and fatter. We are bigger and leaner.

Brad Davis did a hell of a job of making this a competent unit by the end of the season. I am excited about what he can do with a more talented line

Probably not an original thought but - do you ever look at the sizes of some of the "legendary" NFL teams' o lines? Guys were 230, 250, 240.
Today's players on the worst college team would destroy the "legendary" Namath Jets or the famous Steeler teams of the 70's.
Modern nutrition I guess. Or modern roids??

Where there are pressures to produce a product of high value the human form will morph to meet that demand.
It’s been shown throughout history.
In this case, it’s a lot of mom and dad are both athletes or the kid has size so people drive them to develop the skills and body to play pro ball. The human form is pursuing the reward. You do that long enough and you get designer kids for every sport offering big money.
