Including most recently this morning Tiara Young which is a giant loss. Will we be able to field a team next year the way it’s going?
-Karli Seay
-Treasure Thompson
-Tiara Young
-Awa Trasi
- Sharna Ayres
- Amirah O’Neal (retired)
Another 1-2 are expected to leave as well

How much are we paying Fargas by comparison to other coaches with similar credentials to hers?

Not as bad as it sounds, except for Young, which kind of surprises me.
O'Neal was never going to play. Ayres just doesn't look like a very good player from what little bit we saw of her. Thompson rode the pine for almost the entire season.
Young had a great run of about 7-8 games in January, but she was a disappointment last year and much of this year.
Trasi was wildly inconsistent. She had potential, but just never could sustain it.
And Seay was a great defender, but her offensive game was very hit or miss.
So I assume Pointer, Aifuwa, and Cherry are coming back? If so, then they needed some attrition because the roster was going to be too big anyway.

Awesome I love it! Maybe this will force Woodward to run Fargas who has been a complete joke of a coach out of town!!!!

Pretty sure if almost half your scholarship roster is leaving it's time to cut bait with the coach because the program is officially blown up.

While true, the roster had zero talent outside of her, Pointer and Aifuwa, she was still a big reason we won some of those earlier games in conference play
No decision for Aifuwa or Pointer have been announced
Not sure how you convince any good transfers to want to come here with a coach on the brink of being fired in her last year of her contract unless she is a grad transfer

I'm not exactly fired up about Woodward. When has he shown the "want"to get rid of a coach?

She is probably done playing basketball.
If you look at it, it makes sense. She showed up here mainly as a favor to Shaq. She never once saw the floor. And she wasn't highly recruited to begin with, so it isn't like she SHOULD have been playing but wasn't.
If I had to guess, she is a kid who is ready to get on with the rest of her life beyond basketball.

I agree. I think out of that list of 6, Young will be the one they will miss the most.
And I can do without watching Aifuwa miss more shots than she makes from 4 feet or less away. Hopefully she works on her game this summer and figures out how to make layups.

And you can bet your arse other schools are using this against LSU in recruiting.

So you are saying our recruiting is sub par?

I don't care how bad the WBB program is. If you guys want Paul Maineri to be replaced ASAP and LSU to keep spending big money on the football program, then making a change in the WBB program is NOT the way to accomplish that.
Even in the "good days" of the pre-covid revenue stream WBB was a MASSIVE money loser for the department. And that was the case even when they were good. With the revenue stream significantly hindered now is not the time to make a change unless the HC leaves on her own accord.
I have nothing personal against WBB, but it is a horrible return on investment. Even the best programs lose a ton of money. The fact that HC's are getting paid $600k, $700k, $800k is INSANE relative to the revenue the sport produces.
