ESPN currently has Mcneese as a 12 seed while we may not make the NIT again lmao

Bad News...McNeese won't be a 12th seed/AQ aka automatic qualifier if they don't win the conference tourney. In fact, they won't make the NCAA tournament in that case. There is only 1 team from the Southland in "bracketology" prediction and that is all there will be. Ask La Tech under Mike White who won CUSA multiple times during the regular season, didn't win the CUSA tourney, and got left out. That is McNeese/Wade's fate if McNeese doesn't win their tournament.

Repeat my prediction. The only way McNeese makes the tournament is if they win the Southland Conference tourney. Because they are taking a grand total of 1 team from that conference.

Bold prediction man. You should feel accomplished after that one.

McMahon has pretty much had his chance IMO. We'll see how he finishes the season, but what LSU seems to have is a bunch of mediocre players out there who play lousy defense, can't shoot, and can't rebound. And even if they win say 6 games in the SEC playing 18, that is a hideous record...albeit not hard to beat a 2-16 2023 record. Unless McMahon is able to sign a real stud player in this class...hasn't yet for sure...next year is going to be a repeat of this season. McMahon's ceiling is a decent coach in a mid-level conference. An example might be Murray State.

Actually, not that bold. Multiple other posters have made the same prediction but also many more posters have said the coronation to the tournament is just a matter of time. We'll see who is right. Having said that, I do expect McNeese to breeze through that basket case that is the Southland conference. BTW, their strength of schedule between about 270 and 300th in the nation would be the kiler.

That's such a great insight.

Seriously? You are making a big deal out of McNeese beating powerful Houston Christian by 49 points...the same Houston Christian that is 6-17 overall and yet better at 4-8 in the Southland. Their much better record inside the Southland tells you how bad the Southland is. Anyway, McNeese and Wade better not let down against Little Sisters of the Poor in their next game. However, good news...I think their power forward is on a retreat. FYI, LSU beat Miss Valley State by 46 this season and yes, they are a horrible team also.

Repeat my prediction. The only way McNeese makes the tournament is if they win the Southland Conference tourney. Because they are taking a grand total of 1 team from that conference.

seriously....does LSU have a win like the Michigan at Michigan win? michigan isnt good but its as good or better win than anyone LSU has beat.

stop acting like the only team mcneese has beat is HC. and stop acting like Wade hasnt done a great job and upgraded the talent at McNeese in 1 year. and stop acting like Mcloser is doing close to the job wade did.

I detect a hint of sarcasm but most of the Wade worshippers have been buying their 1st round NCAA tickets already. As a La Tech fan, been there, saw it happen multiple times. When you are in a disrespected conferences like CUSA or Southland, they are taking 1 team. Doesn't matter if you win the regular season...they are only going to take the AQ. And McNeese's hideous SOS ranking them near 300th best will be the dagger if they lose.

Huh???????????? First, Michigan isn't good is an understatement...last in the Big 10 at 8-15 overall. Second, look at the power index rankings. A&M is above Michigan...so is Wake Forest...so is Ole Miss. Oh, and FYI, LSU is above Michigan also believe it or not.

And don't put me in the McMahon believers. I say the guy is never going to succeed at LSU. He is a decent mid-level conference coach...that is his ceiling.

Wake Forest is OOC and yes Wake Forest is ranked way above Michigan.

2019 was such a fun season. It felt like the momentum was building with each game as the tournament got closer, and with a few more years, LSU would become a real powerhouse.

This is a given IMO. That's why it's not some great "I told you" so prediction. Very simple.

A better discussion is where McNeese is on NET or Kenpon now.

If... a choice was to be made by the NCAAT committee only between LSU and McNeese as an imaginary 69th bid. Who gets selected?

To quote you "this is a given IMO". They could literally expand the tourney to 100 teams and it wouldn't matter. Obviously, the key reason is LSU isn't remotely in the hunt for an NCAA bid. I don't think they have a puncher's chance of making the NIT. Thankfully, another dreadful men's BB season will come to an end on Mar 14th in the SEC tournament.
