I love this board.

Fan 1: “We have the best defense ever. 5 sacks in the scrimmage today and didn’t even play the studs. ELITE!”

Fan 2: “Yeah man but the offensive line looks sketchy.”

Fan 1: “it was only a scrimmage, those sacks probably wouldn’t even count in a real game!”

It’s a no win situation...if the offense does well then the defense must suck ...and if the defense does well then the offense must suck ... somebody is bound to have “ CONCERNS “

Define “gashed”. I’m guessing it doesn’t include being tied for last in the conference.

Here’s a fact: LSU was tied for 14th in the SEC in sacks allowed last year. Until further notice, the defensive line is not what is keeping LSU out of championship contention.

Florida A&M Alabama Miss St. Even Ole Miss and UCF. All successfully ran the ball on us.

and being tied for last has to do with our D Line not getting pressure and freeing up blocks for blitzers. our O-Line was bad last year. but our D Line as a whole wasnt much better.

Let me know the next time LSU’s rush defense finishes last in the conference. Until then, your argument is fricking stupid.

Smh. Every year the worry warts take scrimmage stats too seriously. If the defense had zero sacks, you would probably worry about them too. Someone going to win and someone is going to lose. We won’t know much until we play a game.

are you genuinely trying to tell me we had a GOOD rush defense last year?

Tell me. What games last year did LSU's rush defense actually impress you?

Clemson's defense got gashed in a couple of games last year. I saw Alabama's defense get gashed in a few games last year. There are some stellar offenses out there these days. Nobody's defense is safe. This is a new era. OFFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS!

Not a good sign no matter how you spin it ! Also, not a good sign if we supposed to be running a new offense tha takes pressure off the OL

The denial on this board is amazing. Team hasn't played 1 game yet and the offense was worse in 2019 than 2018 but the fool is the one wondering if it's actually improved and not the people who swear it has every year.

Did I say that?

Well, considering my point is the offensive line was much worse, the question would be “which game did the defensive line impress you more than the offensive line”?

The answer to that is: All of them. The offensive line gave up 35 sacks in 13 games.

bro go look at game by game stats of LSU rush defense. we got pushed around. its okay. im not saying we didnt have a good defense, but we dont hit the magic 10/11/12 game regular season mark if we dont consistently stop the run. especially because teams will be scared to throw against us not named Alabama.

Clemsons rush defense was ranked in the top 3 last year

LSU was 40

The only person who needs to looks at stats is the one trying to say LSU’s defensive line was as bad as the offensive line.

(That’s you)

Ok, fine, there were more than several rush defenses that were better than ours was; but our 40th ranked rush defense did NOT cost us the playoff berth. Look at LSU's "other" 2 losses, to Florida and to Texas a&m. LSU's passive, NON-multiple, slow-developing pass plays, mediocre offense cost us those 2 games, and nothing you say about the defense will change my mind. LSU should've defeated both of those clubs by 14+. Orgeron was too chicken to be aggressive late because Ensminger ran slow-developing pass plays that got our offensive linemen's asses kicked, and they were both too ignorant to implement wide-open, quick pass and rpo concepts. LSU should've finished 11 & 1 followed by a berth in the playoff. Again, the defense was adequate enough. Why can't you get that through your head? This is the 21st century. You've got to have an OFFENSIVE offense.

I'll give you this. For LSU to actually win the national title, yes, the defensive line and rush defense must improve without question.

Ahh yes another thread about unofficial alleged practice stats. Can’t we get anymore “is this team or position group the greatest ever” threads? Even those are better than this.

Watched scrimmage and it was very concerning. Oline really struggled in pass protection.
