I'm surprised this isn't being talked about since it was such a big deal in 2006.

there was a passionate part of our fan base that was very unhappy with les miles for losing two games and not winning the n.c. with four first round draft choices on the team.

i think it just happened again last night! except the team lost three games last year!

It doesn't count if it happens to Saban

The mood in the offseason between 2006 and 2007 was very positive. I think we all knew that 2006 team was special, but the schedule was tortuous. We played 4 teams on the road that were ranked in the top 10 at the time we played them and we went 2-2 in those games.

Now, the reason no one is saying anything about Bama is because Bama fans actually support their team and coach and LSU fans just can't let Saban go. I'm sure the AU Boards are giving the Gumps grief, however.

Alot of those fans were unhappy with Miles before 2006 and have been unhappy with him even after 2007. Not a big deal.

Aren't these the same Bama fans that have been known to throw bricks through their coaches' windows?

i realize that. however, where are they now? they don't have a problem running their mouths when this supports their discontent. however, silence when it doesn't.

It probably wouldn't have been such a big deal if we had gone undefeated and won a National Championship in 2005.

I don't know if you slept through 2009, but Alabama won the NC.

Alabama fans on the SEC rant have more important things they are concerned with right now. It may be bandied about later.

Those fans have one set of standards/rules/expectations for Miles and another for other coaches at other programs. They have never been sold on Les as a coach so he has to produce results that are unrealistic if they are to be satisfied.

But, Bama did win it all last year with those players on the team.

But, it wasn't a big deal in 2006 and it's not a big deal now. Football is a team sport and in a conference like the SEC, alot of folk beat up on each other. There is not a disparity in talent between LSU and the rest of the SEC that existed like it did between Miami and the rest of the Big East in the 80's and 90's

I think you answered you own question.

This board is an outlet for negatigers, as much as it is entertaining for all other tiger fans.

But those 1st round choices weren't on the team in 2007. You talked about fans being unhappy with Miles in the 2006 season.

i know, he won the n.c. in 2007 without the four first rounders.

i was responding to the point bama went undefeated and won the n.c. in 2009 with those players.

I know. So there's nothing to criticize Saban for in terms of not winning titles.

And those fans we're talking about are not going to praise Miles for 2007 no matter what. They'll criticize him for losing 2 games that year.
