Based upon the police report (see TigerRag link in other thread) it appears that Victoria Long is the "third party," which is interesting, since she was able to advise BRPD at 6:10 am that Lowery was sleeping.
Something else interesting from that report...the only two people that specifically names Jefferson and, oddly enough, Josh Johns, were Lowry and Long. The three who were interviewed at the hospital at 4:45 were unable to give any further descriptions than that it was black males.
Now...given that the group was said to be wearing LSU gear, and these other two were perfectly sure who it was...doesn't it seem odd the three in the hospital had NO idea who they were?
Not suggesting anything really...just seems odd given the specificity of Lowry and Long.
And yes...Lowry and Long clearly know each other.

Getting a little bogged down.
It doesn't matter who JJ kicked or who injured what, if JJ was directly involved in it, that's enough to sink him as far as his future on the team, I think. As far as the criminal matter, that's still another story.

And none were even there when the police originally arrived at the scene.
Why would that surprise any rational person?
18-22 year olds are not normally going to hang around a bar fight to be questioned by ANYONE when all parties seem to be ok enough to walk away...in my experience.

Im pointing out the fact that everyone wants to see jj strung up. They could care less about anyone elses involvement.
And yes it does matter, when trying to figure out who to pin 2nd battery charges on.

Why? Are you saying any player that gets into a fight for any reason should automatically be kicked off the team?

We need to change the title of this thread. It is misleading since CLEARLY this Long lady is NOT a 3rd party witness!

I just can't believe the police officer didn't interview anyone that works at Shady's, the only people with the remote chance of being sober. Especially the first time when no one that was involved was there

Why would people expect the football players to stick around to give their statements then? Only one person stayed. Andrew Lowery, we still have only one side of the story.

I don't buy 49 of much anything. That's one of the biggest collections of Jordans I've ever heard of a college kid having, if so. And I'm not being critical. It's just interesting, moreso than all the hearsay, IMO.

Dont start rumors. Lowery is the one that was said to have been kicked by JJ, Lowery is the marine. Now its possible others involved could have been marines, but no where is that stated. No where was it stated jj kicked the driver.
No, I'm describing the reports that have been released. They are supposed to be matching JJ's shoes to a print apparently in a guys face. That is not Lowery according to this report. Also, we know someone suffered broken vertebrae. This is also not Lowery according to this report. We do know from this that Lowery was kicked in the face by JJ.

An hour and 10 minutes elapse between when the officer 1st arrives, and when he goes back to Shady's? After going to Reggies's, which is literally about 1/4 mile away?

quote:No, I'm not saying should or could. It's not my policy, but my impression was that for Miles, a player breaking curfew and getting into a bar fight (and then perhaps lying about his involvement) would be grounds for some type of discipline.

If those people are not intwerviewed, then this case seems like a play by the BRPD Chief to get face time. This may backfire if the investigation starts to look very one sided.
I must add I was a doctor for 30 years, then I became a detective for the next 45 years, then I became a reporter for another 20 years, then I retired to the job i have enjoyed for the last 27 years, Chimney Sweep.
Do not question my story here as I have just given my portfolio of expertise on all these matters.
Oh wait, I'm starting to sound like the rest of you.
P.S. 3rd party means the witness DID NOT KNOW those involved.

Not relevant to the story, but this keeps getting repeated.
I agree. This has nothing to do with what went down.
He was a guy in a bar wearing jeans and a flannel shirt. The freaking media and police are eating this "he is a Marine" crap up.
Let's just dismiss the fact that he's a high school drop out, been in trouble since.... is in the Marine reserves b/c that's his only option in life.....
Again, that doesn't matter either but they're making it sound like he was wearing fatiques and had just returned from doing a tour in Afghanistan or something.

Well, Johns is a flat bill fan, though. So there's that.
Had a good chuckle from this...
In all seriousness, Josh used to be a good friend of mine/baseball teamate in high school. He wasn't exactly the most church-going guy if you catch my drift, but he certainly wasn't an instigator. If he truly hurt some other guys, he should be punished without question. All this he said she said is getting really old. Coach Miles simply needs to get to the bottom of the investigation and be done with it. In case everyone forgot we have a game next weekend...I mean geez...

ETA: I see. It's in the police report itself. Strange.
