You need a conversion or else return the ball to state who is firing on all cylinders.

Here's the set-up:

5 blockers and and 5 eligible. You have 6-7 guys in the box showing pressure.

You have to get the ball out quickly because you don't have the protection. You're going to get one on one matchups across the board and they have no safety deep.

YOU

HAVE

TO

THROW

IT

This is a quick developing play. One that Burrow and company feasted on last year in short yardage situations. The receivers will shield off their defenders and turn their bodies toward the QB to make a possession catch beyond the sticks. This should be easy

but not for Myles Brennan

at the end of his drop, regardless of whether there's a defender near him, the ball needs to be out. He has no time to make a play.

It ends with Myles scrambling away and throwing on the run to an open Terrace Marshall, but the pass was so poor that Marshall couldn't even get it reaching out fully.

He has an unblocked defender IN HIS FACE in less than 1 second. Dan Marino would not have been able to throw it.

Yes he would have

When Brennan's plant foot hit the ground the ball should've been coming out

I can, sure. But they're a lot easier to pick out than bad plays. Just look for LSU's highlights.

Ball would have been incomplete if he would have got it out of his hands before he had to bail, tight coverage and no one was open. Poor execution all around. If anything, should have told Curry to pass protect. That one guy coming in unblocked blew up the entire play

The offense worked so well last year because situations like this where they are bringing more than we can block Burrow knew what to do and he didn’t hesitate.

My fear is Ensminger will scrap the higher risk spread stuff and go back to the 2018 based protection stuff because Brennan can’t cut it

Curry should have stayed in to block. I'm no expert but there has to be an audible he can call there.

In the first GIF, he had ZERO chance and the running back should've gotten a piece of the rusher.

Did you watch last year? Burrow had this exact same setup all year. We have the wide receivers to win these tight matchups. The QB just needs to deliver it.

Hope not, because that shite didn't work against Southeastern, and we don't have any of those in the schedule this year

Y'all fr must not have watched last season. He just needs to throw it. Burrow threw these without hesitation. There's no reason for him to try to scramble. This ball is supposed to be out ASAP.

Gilbert, Marshall, or whoever is on the nearside boundary.

This is a routine play they ran last year. These guys are OPEN.

Brennan had no shot, guy was on him immediately. But he does need to release the ball more quickly. Experience....

Ball would have been batted down by that guy that came in unblocked. Your problem is you’re expecting things to be like last year, which is unrealistic. We’ll never have an offense or QB like we had last year, so don’t try and say Brennan should be like Burrow and stuff like that because that’s not how it works. Plenty of games in 2018 where Burrow should have got the ball out of his hands faster too but didn’t. It’s growing pains and things that happen whenever you have a guy who hasn’t had a meaningful snap since 2017. No one is going to ever come in game 1 and do what an experienced veteran is supposed to do

I have no idea what you guys can't see. It's like y'all didn't watch last season at all. Those slants are all open. He wasn't looking to Curry. He was looking to the nearside slant which was also open.
