I appreciate that he is so atrocious that the crash and burn to fire him took just 15 games after a natty. Most coaches with a 2019 on their resume would have a 3-5 year runway before the hot seat.

Because he’s an emotional and not cerebral man, “sissy blue shirt”, hitting on married women, “fishing hole” choices allowed Woody cover to fire and replace with an elite HC.

If O had a 3-digit IQ, he could well still be here.

His teams were actually talented after 2019. He just let players do whatever they wanted and there was zero structure or accountability.

And he recruited strictly for a top class, not for high character guys.

This (1) isn't true and (2) championship caliber programs lose tons of starters every year.

a Covid shitshow where your new OC and DC (yes, horrible hires) installed their systems via teleconference
Orgeron made these horrible hires and they didn't install shite "via teleconference". Orgeron actually bragged that the lockdowns gave them MORE time to prepare in the off season.

nd Clark focusing the team on BLM (remember, the team skipped practice to have attend a march) is just re-writing history.
Nick Saban led a black lives matter march with his players because he knew that would help his team. Ed Orgeron let his assistant (Derek Ponamsky) convince him to tell the players that "you're just here to play football" and they said frick off and did their thing.

O had to go, but pretending that wasn’t some trying shite to go through is disingenuous.

No other championship caliber coach in America was fired because of 2020/2021. Just Ed Orgeron. He was somehow the only one who couldn't handle it.

Joe Burrow, Jamar Chase, Justin Jefferson. Dude fell off the wagon after 2019 though and needed to go with the negative press he was bringing around the program.

The HC position could have been vacated and that team would have won the NC with Ensminger and Aranda running things.

The DL, hell the front 7 Miles left gave us a top 5 scoring defense that year with a first year Aranda.

Arden Key 14.5 TFL 12 sacks, 3 forced fumbles
Davon Godchaux 8.5 TFL 6.5 sacks
Tashawn Bower 5 TFL 4 sacks 1 forced fumble
Senior LBs Kendall Beckwith and Duke Riley both had 90+ tackles and combined for 15 TFL and 3 sacks.
We had a freshman LB (Devin White)
Freshman tackles were Rashard Lawrence and Ed Alexander (top 5 and 10 at their position out of high school).

If you go look at the defensive players on that 2016 team when Les was fired, it was a freaking gold mine.

My apologies - 20 players that signed in the NFL

20 players signed is a shite ton.

This doesn’t happen every year.

And Covid restrictions didn’t compound those circumstances when it did for those other teams.

Orgeron made these horrible hires

I said as much

and they didn't install shite "via teleconference"

Fair enough, however, to suggest that it was the norm is GROSSLY untrue.

He is an idiot that deserved to be fired.

Nick Saban led a black lives matter march with his players because he knew that would help his team.

Wasn’t that AFTER the shite show occurred at LSU? Iirc, Saban did say “ALL lives matter” though.

I won’t call you a liar, but...link to the quote?

quote:

Ed captures lightning in a bottle in 2019.

He won a title and I’m grateful.

However, he was fired because he was no longer a

quote:

championship caliber coach

Again, I’m glad O is gone.

He deserved to be fired.

I just won’t judge him without context.

Ed Orgeron deserves the respect of LSU fans for the greatest season we will probably ever experience again. His faults were many, in particular, his inability to sustain a consistent winnable culture after success.

Miles “left us with”:
2016 roster, his final year (yes, 3 graduated afterwards but the rest were starters for the ‘19 team).
Godchaux, Lawrence (future All SEC), LaCouture, Key (All SEC/freshman AA), Lewis Neal, Ed Alexander (Freshman all sec), Andre Anthony, and Glen Logan.

2017 signing class which miles recruited:
Chaisson (all sec/1st rd pk), Shelvin, Farrell

All multi year starters for Lsu and draft picks.

Nah, that was the end of 2014. 2015 was the year with Kevin Steele where we gave up more yards and like 1 TD more per game.

Kinda why I was mad about losing Chavis, a lot of that 2014 defense was coming back and a couple younger guys were coming into their own (Beckwith and Jamal Adams).

While I appreciate his efforts of staying out of the way during that season, I don’t respect anything about his hire or his almost total withdrawal from the team after the 2019 season.

Let’s not forget that urban Meyer had a lot to do with where Joe landed after he left Ohio State.
