1. Pulled Hilliard a little too early - remember it was after the hit Thompson almost snagged

2. That T9 0-2 pitch… that’s one that haunts you. Feel like it should have come from the dugout not to be hittable

3. Let me preface this one by saying I think Doughty is a great player and we’re lucky to have him. BUT… I feel like he needs some speed work. It showed up bad B9 - gotta beat that one out.

Overall I think we were the better team and just made a few crucial missteps. Dugas’ homer was epic.

how the hell do you know this? Hilliard had already tossed 50+ pitches Friday and a bunch today. You don’t know how he felt or if he had much more to start with and was just hitting it out.

That happened BACK TO BACK. He grooved 0-2 FBs to hitters who were not missing pitches. One the entire tournament.

Not this season. Southern Miss would wipe LSU in a 3 game series just throwing lefthanders from their pen let alone their 3 aces. Hall was better than the guy that didn’t give up an earned run on Saturday night in 7 innings versus LSU. That guy was the number 3 starter.

Pulling Hilliard for sure, the pen management and the steal are probably the big 3 today.

The steal was just bad luck - it was a breaking ball, that usually works.

Plus Bianco’s baserunning was huge in our second win.

Drew was guessing it would be a breaking ball or bunted.

Bianco maybe a smart base runner but he’s got the speed of a fry cook and in that situation it was a bad move.

Yeah I’m not faulting him at all there 9/10 times he’s safe.

I was wondering if that was supposed to be a bunt with Bianco breaking on the pitch. If it was, then that was on the batter. And I think if that throw wasn't spot on, Bianco is still safe.

It was heartbreaking but I have trouble faulting Bianco.

This isn’t true. He’s no Gio or Crews but he is one of the faster guys on the team. Granted the overall team speed wasn’t very good. Bianco’s athleticism will always be criminally underrated.

Grevase was off.

If he was his normal on, we win going away.

I respect your opinion. But I don’t agree. All except the 0-2 pitch left up are things that happened on the margins. The 0-2 likely was a mistake by the pitcher. He had a few in that inning.

B1 - Morgan getting picked off 2nd with Jobert at the plate vs a RH on the ropes. Game could have been 6-0

Southern Miss was the better team.

We played them 3 times and they won 2... AND played 1 more game than us. That's 9 more innings of pitching and playing tough that they had to cover.

And by the way, they are ranked #11 and hosted.

I disagree, Hilliard was getting hit hard and had given up 5 hits thru 3.

The 0-2 pitch was set up 6 inches outside and was about 2 inches off the plate. Batter stuck the bat out and put the ball in play. The next batter was 1-2, was set up way outside, and Reyz just missed and grooved one middle in.
