Obviously, this projection would change a little if someone like Joe Burrow parachuted onto campus. However, it wouldn’t change a lot

That's the way I see it. I give one extra win, so I'd expect 8-4. 7-5 with Burrow would be grounds for O's termination.

Addition by subtraction is being used to counter this argument. We all know that's airtight logic.

Second, the quarterback situation (among a few other positions) is unsettled.

Agree with QB, but what other positions are "unsettled"? There are some position battles, but that happens at every program across the country.

Third, the offensive play-calling of Steve Ensminger is an unknown to this point.

His ability to call plays was fine. The unknown is his ability to construct an offense of his own.

Fourth, and perhaps most importantly, LSU’s schedule is doing it no favors.

No one can argue with this.

QB, RB, WR. All 3 will have new starters including top 2 at WR and RB.

I would imagine that replacing your top 5 skill positions in one season is not that common.

I assumed you had no role. But now I’m starting to wonder. Are you being truthful to me?

The defense could be the best Aranda has had here simply because for the first time while, LSU looks like they could be a force along the interior DL. Also, the one real bright spot in the spring game was that Chaisson and Moore looked pretty good on the edge. If injuries don't creep up at CB, LSU could be a REALLY good defense.

That would at least give the offense a CHANCE. But right now everything on that side of the ball is a huge question mark. There's no RB on the roster who you know for sure can be a game breaker. The WR group looks awfully talent and versatile, and for the first time since at least 2013 (if not before) LSU is going to HAVE to throw the football (even if out of necessity). Still, no one (besides Giles at TTU) has done much when it mattered. QB is a BIG question mark. The OL may be really good inside, but the tackle spot is worrisome. Bring all of that together with an unknown at OC and there is reason to seriously doubt going into the season LSU.

Look its the opinion of the author of this article no more no less. Has this guy been to our practices, closed scrimmages? Does he know what our offense will look like in the fall? No and no! Booger McFarland who is a rising star in the sports industry opinion is much different. And McFarland has been to the practices and scrimmages so he knows what our coaches are doing and the type of talent we have. What I think is strange is that these negative articles start coming out on sites like 247 who are pro bama run web sites. And the other idiot talking about our lack of ability to coach QB's. All of this when we are on the verge of attaining a possible commitment from a high profile transfer! And then half of you so called tiger fans just jump right on the anti O anti LSU bandwagon.

See, why is 8-4 WITH Burrow not grounds for termination??

Since 2001, LSU has lost four regular season games only THREE TIMES.

2002, 2008, and 2014.

All of those seasons had disasters at the QB position for one reason or another. But the real key was that the defense all fell apart in those seasons as well, again, for a variety of reasons.

With the loaded defense we all expect under Aranda, I just can’t see why we think anything less than 9-3 is acceptable. LSU has gone 9-3 or better against just as tough if not tougher schedules with weak QB play for 17 years now based on solid defenses, and this one could be up there with the best of them.

Yes we have issues at QB but Burrows should solve all that right?? And even if not, our QB struggles are well documented, and yet we’ve maintained that 9-3 bar in every season we’ve had typical LSU defensive play.

There simply isn’t any reason to shrug off 4 losses as just growing pains with this defense. It will be a clear sign that things on offense are absolutely not getting better, but worse. Especially in another year where outside of the Big 3 (LSU not included anymore), the SEC is yet again filled with down teams that have just as many holes as we do if not many more.

I think that puts him on the hot seat for the next season. 7-5 and I don't even think O makes it to 2019.

The other day some guy posted a similar article where he proclaimed that LSU has to face ‘UGA in Baton Rouge and Alabama in T-Town.’

I’m convinced that the days of journalists of ANY kind actually doing research are largely kaput.

Gonna be hard to beat that ‘16 defense.

Also we may be a strength on he line but for the first time in a looonnnggg time we are paper thin at CB. Greedy goes down and we’re screwed.

I, for one, like to consider this a strength. Miami and Auburn will not have a good clue what to expect from a Steve Ensminger offense.

Also, after a few games, he can make necessary adjustments for the upcoming games against Florida and Georgia.

Hopefully, he can stay one step ahead of the competition throughout the season.

Love the hyperbole in this post. Yup, Fehoko and Giles are upgrades. Based on what? Your hopes and prayers combined with practice results? Neither has taken a snap at LSU so you are absolutely clueless on where their production will be. They could turn out more productive but stating it like a fact is ignorant.
