Predicting LSU's starters for the 2020 season
QB: MYLES BRENNAN
RB: CHRIS CURRY
WR1: TERRACE MARSHALL JR.
WR2: RACEY MCMATH
WR3: JONTRE KIRKLIN
TE: ARIK GILBERT
LT: DARE ROSENTHAL
LG: ED INGRAM
C: LIAM SHANAHAN
RG: CHASEN HINES
RT: AUSTIN DECULUS
Interesting tidbit... no mention of Palmer as WR3, although did mention Jenkins giving a run to Kirklin
DE: ANDRE ANTHONY
DT: GLEN LOGAN AND APU IKA
DE: TRAVEZ MOORE
OLB: JABRIL COX AND MICAH BASKERVILLE
MLB: DAMONE CLARK
CB: DEREK STINGLEY JR.
CB: CORDALE FLOTT
S: JACOBY STEVENS
S: MAURICE HAMPTON
Defense will be our biggest concern I believe. While we have talent, a lot is inexperienced. I’m predicting 8-2 this year or 9-1 if we can escape Florida

People keep talking about our lack of returning starters. Fair enough. But I don't think we lack experience.
7 out of the 11 projected starters on offense have started a game for LSU. And make it 8 if you count Shanahan as an experienced starter.
And 8 out of 11 projected starters on defense have started a game before. 9 if you include Cox as an experienced starter.

Let everyone keep sleeping on us. I love it.

They seem to have forgotten our defense is a 4-3 now.

Look again. I see 4 DL and 3 LB

They only list 3 DL spots, but have 2 for DT

sounds about right for WR3 because O hasn't really mentioned Trey Palmer this off season until someone actually asked about him he only mentioned him on punt return and kickoffs

So Cox’s expertise is edge rusher, correct?

I think one of the true freshmen WRs end up starting by the end of the season.

Is it just me or has Kirklin been at LSU for 6 years?

We’re so fricked at DE

This reminds me so much of the doubts we had going into 2018. Granted, these are different circumstances, but a lot of people were saying we would lose 5 games that year. Hopefully we stay away from injury and covid because our starters are still really good. Depth is our biggest concern this season.

It feels like the staff really, really likes Kirklin. They've seemingly been trying to find a place for him on the field for 3 years now, but just haven't been able to for various reasons. It feels almost like a Russell Shepard situation. Great athlete, but maybe just not quite polished enough to replace other guys at WR.

Somebody needs to get in Neil Farrell's face. That fear of Covid thing is simply ridiculous.

TK is now in the transfer portal

I see your Russell Shepard and raise you a Russell Gage.
