4 National Title Appearances

3 National Championships

6 West Division Titles

4 SEC Titles

2 Heisman Winners

14 /25 seasons with 10+ wins

19/25 seasons with 9+ wins

23/25 seasons with 8+ wins

24/25 records at .500 or better

That’s a solid two and a half decades.

TLDR

LSU sucks!!!

I swear the TV I watched this game on weighed more than Whitworth

It’s still hard to believe. LSU winning a national championship just wasn’t something that was ever supposed to happen. I remember people celebrating all around me as I just stared into the TV waiting for a freak play to let Oklahoma tie the game up

I remember that night so well. huge party at my parents, all my friends came over because we were 17 and my parents would let us drink (within limits). I still remember the look of pure hatred my older sister gave when my trashy girlfriend sat on my lap on the back deck .

And I was sitting the Super Dome watching it when it happened!

I got the two tickets for free but had to pay the guy I got the tickets from $1,400 to buy his LSU baseball cap...

So back then they just picked a bowl, Sugar, and match #1 and #2 and that was it. So simple those days.

I remember sitting in Tiger Stadium against Georgia in 2003 like it was yesterday. I'll never forget the stadium erupting when Mauck hit Skyler Green.

Man I remember sitting in the student section that game when he hit Green for the TD. It was one of the best moments. My mom would get tickets from the LSU med students when they couldn’t attend the games and my dad would make us fake LSU med school ids so we could get into the student section. I miss those days.

Went with my son and we were fortunate to be able to attend and enjoy the next two together. Hope wine will be able to attend some more.

Went with my dad. He said he never thought he'd see LSU win another Natty in his lifetime.

Glad he got to see a couple more. He passed away 5 months after 2019 Natty, seeing 15-0 and Joe Burrow Heisman. I wish he could have seen JD5 receive it.

Was so overcome with joy, relief, and exhaustion that one victory beer felt like 20. Top fan sports moment for me.

I was there. Near the top of the terrace but we were there. A priest was sitting behind us. We got nervous toward the end of the game when OU came back. The priest said a prayer. Worked.

I was there. That was one of the biggest thrills of my life. We celebrated on Bourbon Street until well into the next morning.
