Honestly guys, it’s the pitchers who need improvement. Our catcher pop times are good. The pitchers are slow deliverers.

We need to focus on some other positions soon.

What were Garza and Mathis' pop times?

I'll bet his girlfriend isn't happy about that!

But the rant will want his arse GONE as soon as his batting average is sitting at around that same number.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. You are 10x more annoying than the rantards you constantly attack. All your effort hasn't changed a damn thing about this place

This is a thread about a 2020 recruit and you have the first post with your panties in a wad about comments that haven't even been made yet

You need to take a break from this place

but I would absolutely trade a bat to have a catcher keeping people stuck on the bases

This is going to come down to the pitchers making changes. Mixing in slide steps, mixing up looks to the base, making effortful pick offs, speeding up time to plate.
Not sure if the decision is CPM or AD, but it’s clear that they are willing to sacrifice bases in lieu of the pitcher not making any direct changes to his delivery.
Our pitchers do nothing different with men on other than go to the stretch. Most of them still high leg kick and don’t make much of an effort to hold runners on. No catcher in the world has a chance without the pitcher making an effort to keep them close

He raked in the team USA tournament last summer against a bunch of Caribbean dude already in the minors.

I hope he really loves baton rouge. Because he's going to be highly sought after.

If Romo makes it to campus, it's incredibly unlikely he and Garza would be on the team at the same time.

I gotcha, was thinking he’d be here next year. I agree, doubt Garza will be here in 2021

The dude was already crossing the plate before the ball got there. Not anywhere near actual gameplay.

but ok. It's a showcase you miserable bastards of course its not a game, its still a very impressive pop time as he bested everyone under the same conditions.

pop time

At what point does the clock start to record pop time and when does it stop? I'm not much of a baseball guy but I'd imagine it starts when ball is in his glove and when ball reaches 2nd base. Just not completely positive.

Nobody loves LSU or BTR enough to pass up the kind of money he’s going to get. Yeah it’s cool to gawk at him but unless an Alex Bregman type injury happens he will never be a Tiger. Sucks but its the truth, players of that caliber just don’t make it to college

Which is kind of the proof that mathis wasnt bad either, it was lsu’s pitchers and philosophy on the mound that was the problem
