You better pray that Tua isn't the QB at Bama next year. That kid is gonna light it up. I still like LSU by a nose though.

QB will be better,

you are even better than I am at visioning "pollyanna" outcomes

No one knows how the next QB will do vs Aubie or Dogs or Bama.
Kid vs the heat is on.

After beating a bunch of teams this year with losing records (and in some cases, no head coach), we'll have our hat handed to us next year.

Coach O's true talent, or lack thereof, will come out next year, unfortunately.

Anything less than 10-2 is a failure. You don’t get to use the schedule as an excuse. Miles didn’t, and neither does Orgeron.

But I think 10-2 is doable.

10-2 probably. 2-2 against miami, auburn, bama and uga. probably lose to uga and bama. could easily go 8-4.

we'll definitely find out how good brennan and/or narcisse are.

It's a brutal schedule, but I am optimistic. Our offensive line played very well at the end of the year, and became a strength of the team. Hopefully, it will remain that way going into next year, and if so, we should be able to move the ball against the good front sevens, like Alabama and UGA. With that and Dave Aranda as our DC, I honestly don't see any automatic losses on the schedule, provided the qb plays well.

Although the schedule is brutal, each game is winnable. The odds are against us going undefeated, and making the playoffs. But if the qb plays well, we are a good enough team to contend for the west, if the ball bounces our way in some of those difficult games. We also have to stay healthy. It will be an exciting offseason.

Why? You think the bar should be lowered now? Tell me more, dumbass...

Why was Miles fired? If 9-3 or 8-4 is ok then we should have kept him and avoided the buyout.

Ignorant fricker.

I like the analysis. However, we are not beating Bama or Georgia. Not for a couple years.

Nobody is lowering any bar you stupid frick. Saying you can't use the schedule as an excuse when it has a DIRECT EFFECT on your win/loss record is the same as your Dad saying go drive this car and pick your mother up from work at the whorehouse across town. It has no gas in it but you can't use that as an excuse for not picking up Mom.

The fact is I'd love for them to win 10 games next year but just like nearly every single person in this thread, I can recognize factors that will greatly influence the probability of reaching that win total. The shitload of key players they're losing combined with a schedule vs the very top teams in the country makes winning 10 out of 12 games highly unlikely.

You're obviously one of those spoiled entitled fricking clowns who thinks they are owed something simply because they're fans and spend their money on tickets and gear. Again, bitch stfu and go sit down. Your opinion is about as worthless as your degree from tech. fricking clown.

The Tigers are capable on defense but next year presents real challenges on offense, particularly if, as everyone says, Canada exits.

I see another 9-3 season with losses @ Auburn, and vs. Georgia and Alabama.

We could very easily be 4-4 heading into that bye week. Next year fans need to expect the worst and be pleasantly surprised if not.

As opposed to expect the worst and then complain the entire season win or lose that the fans have been doing the last few years.

1. Miami- Miami will be highly ranked coming into 2018 but if you look at 2017 they were pretty overated and nearly lost several times. LSU has more talent and will win with defense. W
Nearly lost several times isn't losing. LSU beat Auburn by 4, Syracuse by 9, and UF by 1. LSU lost 3 games, should we say they nearly lost 3 more? Miami returns nearly their entire offense, including getting back their Heisman hopeful RB from an early season ending injury. This game could go either way as they'll have a huge offensive advantage, while we'll have a defensive advantage.
quote:

6. At Florida- Mullen cannot work magic in one season. LSU is the more talented team and will pull out the W

Mullen lost by 4 to LSU in year one at Miss St with a 5-7 team. A team that was 4-8 the previous year. LSU needed a goaline stand and a top 5 all time LSU punt return to beat that team. LSU won by one point this year, to a 4-7 UF team that fired their HC shortly after. Mullen actually knows offense, and they have players on both sides of the ball to be good as early as next year. Also in the swamp, why would you consider that a win?
quote:

7. UGA- The second big one. This will be a battle, however I think LSU pulls it out with defense. The offense at this point will be good enough to do JUST enough. W
This is completely ignorant. There is absolutely nothing there to say we should win this game. Add to the fact that they are loading up ridiculously in talent this year as far as recruiting goes.
quote:

9. Bama at home. Finally we pull of the win... Our defense will be nasty and our Dline will be the strength of this team. Bama can't run against us and we will do just enough through the air to pull it off.
Until we beat Bama (haven't since November rent 2011), it's safe to say that is a loss, especially if we're going to keep running out pro style and pocket passers.

Right now I have LSU at 8-4, without knowing who the QB is and what we will run on offense.

so miles never dealt with attrition or playing a tough schedusle?

some of yall act like these "problems" are unique to Orgeron, as if no other coach ever faced adversity on the road to success.

I almost didn’t respond to your stupidity, because it’s probably a waste of time to try to explain distinctions to you.

Here’s the distinction you can’t grasp:

Strength of schedule (and other factors) affects the win/loss record

DOES NOT EQUAL

Orgeron gets to use that as an excuse to do as badly as (or worse than) Les Miles.

See? It’s that simple. Those same factors existed for Les too.
