True champions want to play the best, and I'm stoked for our schedule next year. Take a peek at Georgia's 2018 schedule prior to October 18th. Not hard to imagine they will be undefeated coming into Death Valley (and possibly a high rank, too, depending on how they finish 2017).
We will be back from Florida (Oct 7) and beginning a run of three consecutive home games (Georgia, Miss State, & Alabama).
Strength of schedule looks strong as frick based on what's happening right now. For example, what will Miami be ranked when we start next year?
Right now I'm more interested in seeing us crush R Kansas, but I also see future opportunities for our Tigers, just sayin'

Play Vandy in 2019. There's nothing sinister about these schedules. You can have a gripe with the permanent opponent but there's nothing shady with the other rotating opposite division game.

It’s a rough start. We could easily start out 1-2

We get a putrid Tenn this year. Stop with the black helicopter stuff.

You guys really are fricking dumb. Alabama played UGA two years ago and skull fricked them. “Oh but they weren’t good at the time” as if you can predict when someone jumps from 7-5 and is all the sudden 9-0 the next year. Btw UGA is set up for a HUGE drop off next year. Fromm and some O linemen are gonna be their main returning players. You can’t say right now they’ll be as good next season with all that uncertainty.
It’s cyclical, and everyone in the SEC is on the same damn schedule. And it has been set since 2012, they don’t make this up mid season every year. For the record, the “we have to play last year’s SEC east champ” argument is garbage, have you seen that team this season? They just destroyed by the very team you’re whining about bama having on their schedule next year. Cry me a fricking river.
Y’all are insane if you actually believe any of this shite you are saying. You know why we haven’t been in Atlanta the last 6 seasons? Because we lost every game to this team with an “easier East schedule” all while dropping games to teams we share on our schedule every single year. Get your weak mindset out of here. Don’t rely on other teams to beat a team twice because you couldn’t do it yourself.
Also, if y’all are such gurus on this, since going from 3 to 2 cross division games in 2012, when is the last time LSU lost to both Florida and it’s designated East opponwnt for that year? NEVER. So even with an east loss, winning out in the West would solve that little tiebreaker issue. And going 7-1 with a loss to them doesn’t get you to Atlanta either even if they drop one.
Also, would you want to talk OOC scheduling? Yeah BYU and Syracuse were juggernauts this year right?
How bout in 2011 when we beat a preseason favorite and eventual pac 10 champ Oregon, then go and beat the shite out of eventual big east champ West Virginia on the road? That team beat also beat #2 bama, #and #3 Arkansas whose only two losses in the regular season were LSU and bama. The amount of teams in the final top 25 or at least top 10 that LSU beat that year has to be a record.
Talk about brutal scheduling huh? Play the games your given and win them. If you’re supposed to be that fricking good, you shouldn’t lose.
Don’t forget, no matter how easy their East opponents may ever be, they play us every season. What are we going to do about things we control? Who cares about everything else

Are we making excuses for next year already?

And LSU has Tennessee this year, Missouri last year, and USCe the year before that. Not exactly murderers row from our rotating east opponents. That’s just the way the schedule works out. However I would like to play Vandy as much as it seems Bama has the past decade

Stop posting, you are bringing logic and intelligence to the thread
LSU always seems to have a tough schedule, maybe more than others due to the fact we play a good team out of the gate most years and our cross division rival is Florida which is historically the strongest SEC East team or a hot out of conference opponent like a Oregon or a TCU
Other than this our schedule is the same as everyone and everyone get the hot cross division team every now and then.

Exhibit A
Wisconsin this year. Undefeated. No quality opponents. Not considered playoff worthy.
