a bad Arkansas team at that

Then we should be able to score 40. They did put up 65 and pulled starters at the half on O. I’m not 100% sure, but I’d assume Saban might have made a few coaching adjustments during the course of the season. Just a few.

Sure. I totally said that.

We don't score against this team. Period. Our last 8 games we averaged 10 points, 2 of those being shutouts. We have to score points is all I said. It doesn't matter how good our defense plays if we can't do anyting on the scoreboard. History is on my side with this.

Don't start spouting the nega shite. Our offense is inconsistent and we haven't played a team like bama yet. Regardless of what they might say to the press, the past 7 years is in their head. LSU has a lot to overcome. I'm not saying they can't, but it's what they have to do.

We don't score at least 17-20 points, we don't have a shot.

Bama opponents have had 38 possessions when trailing by 20pts or less. Those 38 drives produced 3TDs and 3FGs for an average of 0.79pts/drive.

Not an expert but I don't think that's good.

That stat is probably more indication of how good their 2nd string defense is.

AND LSU STILL frickING LOST BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT SCORE A frickING TOUCHDOWN

The offensive game plan vs Bama in 2016 was far too conservative. Ensminger and O called that game not to lose rather than to win the game because our offense was breaking records after they took over as the interim coaches.

Iowa St at #19 is the highest rated defense in the Big 12......lol

Those people play basketball twice a year. One on the hardwood and one on the turf.

Obviously if we play (offensively) the way we did against MSU, then we have no shot to win.

We need Joe and the receivers to show out BIG TIME in this game, and then we’ll have a chance if our defense has a good game.

I think the good version of Joe shows up and we score more points than we have in awhile against Bama. That might not be enough considering how good Tua is, but thats life.

I’ll only be truly disappointed in the coaching staff if we have a conservative offensive game plan. Because that would downright stupid.

You are correct. Is our offense now good enough to put up 30+ on the gumps and the refs? We’ll see.

Bama has only lost 5 times in Tiger Stadium in the last 60 years. Hence, the saying "The Tide doesn't lose in Baton Rouge".

The stat is that Bama opponents have scored 30 points all season when they're down by < 3 TD's (playing against the starters in a competitive game), and everything else has been when they are down by 21+ (in theory, when Bama players stop caring or the backups are in).

So for the Arky game, they scored 31, but all 31 were in garbage time when they were down 3+ TD's.

Personally I don't buy into that too much b/c the starters are still out there and I can't imagine that they're on the field and not trying, but I guess it's interesting.

Alabama and LSU became a yearly game in the mid 60's there were some games in the 70's that were daytime ABC games with Keith Jackson and Ara Parseghian (former Notre Dame Coach) and then Frank Broyles (Former Arkansas Coach. You have to remember Beat Bryant Coached Alabama from 1958 to 1982 and was 16-4 vs. LSU. I think only 1 of those losses were in Baton Rouge (1969 or 1970). Mac was a good coach but no Bear. The only time LSU has had the coaching advantage was with Bill Arnsparger in 1984-1986 (2-0-1) The Tie was in Baton Rouge, day game on ABC (I was there) and when Saban was here (4-1 vs. Bama, 2-1 at BR., but loss was at night). Since 2007, LSU vs. Bama In Tiger Stadium has been 4-1 Bama (3-0 Bama at night 1-1 during day). So Bama has a winning record vs. LSU at Night and day because they have for the most part, had the HC coaching advantage.
