just kills you that jimbo had record setting offense in 2001 and 2003 huh? was pretty good in 2006 also You think miles was a better offensive coach than jimbo?

I'm not the one making shite up to shite on the past coach. But ok, 2002 and 2004 were not great offenses. Didn't have a QB, go figure. Y'all act like the past 11 years was total shite.

Oh and 2011 was the toughest schedule LSU has ever played.

When you consider we had 10 NFL skill position players on that offense it's amazing how pathetic it was. 355 yards per game, bottom half in the SEC typical Miles trash with a big goose egg in the championship game. The only team to ever do that btw.

Lol toughest schedule we ever played? Florida, Tenn, Aub, Ole Miss, Kentucky and Miss St combined for 12 SEC wins. That's 6 of our 8 conference games vs teams that avged 2 wins and that's our toughest schedule ever? Ok lol

How exactly are the yards per game supposed to be great if, as so many claim, the offense constantly had short fields due to turnovers and special teams?

I'm not disagreeing that the offense was some all time great, but don't talk out of both sides of your arse to make a point.

Scoring O is all that matters, and that offense certainly wasn't bottom half of SEC in scoring or "pathetic" "typical Miles trash".

I'm not talking out of both sides of my arse you are stupid. I never said they had so much field position it was enough to skew the offensive numbers because that's a load of crap. The offense was bad plain and simple we literally couldn't gain first downs vs good teams and avged 4.5 ppg in two tries one being a home game vs Bama. And I'll say this again it was the ONLY team in history to be blanked in the national title game. And if you knew anything you'd know that there isn't any one stat that matters alone you moron. How many times had Oregon avged 40+ ppg and led or finished in the top 5 in scoring and how many titles do they have?

Yes I agree Tiger Voodoo, the offense rarely had very far to go because of defense and ST's, which often took offensive scoring chances away from the offense. Actually several teams out yarded LSU that year but had a lopsided loss at the end of the game. Look it up if you don't believe me.

the offense was not that great as evidenced by the championship game. we had the best special teams I've ever seen; maybe the best ever in college football and it was the last time Chavis had a great defense. the D and SP pulled the o's arse out of the fire more than once esp the SEC championship game against UGA

The offense was a typical Miles unproductive vanilla offense, which benefited from great field position all season.

we had 20 or more 1st downs in 8 games.
we had 18 or more in all but the bama games and uga( we had 13) stop acting like our offense was efficient that year.
JLee went HAM the first 8 games.

we were 3rd in the sec in yards per play( pure stat not affected by running a HUNH or plays ran).

it was against statistically the great college defense in the last 20 years. that's what you're gonna base our offense on?

who are you counting as good teams?

we had 26 1st downs against #3 arkansas.

we had 18 against Oregon.

it's not even close to being the worst beatdown.
Notre dame was beaten worse the very next year.
maybe if we let bama get up 36-0 like Notre dame we couldve scored against their 3rd teamers.

Dude look our offense didn't beat any team that year. No one was intimidated by that offense. Without the great play of our defense and ST that year our offense wouldn't have won games for us period. That's basically what people are saying. We were a great running team and could throw the deep ball occasionally. With more creativity that year (like the play at WV when we faked the run and threw it to ODB) that offense could have been much better.

This is the gripe about Les Miles. We had great big athletic RBs with a great OL most of the time, if he would have taken the focus off of the RBs and the QB on 3rd and longs or obvious pass plays with creativity within the offense then his teams would have been almost unbeatable, even by Bama.

I'll bet big money that we either beat Bama this year or we give them a Clemson like fight in a loss. I actually think we will beat them by putting immense pressure on their QB to make plays through the air this year. Canada is going to find ways to score this year. I think we beat them this year and make Saban look like the dick control freak he really is. GT

Oh boy! Madclown jumping into another thread to bad mouth Miles. Color me shocked. Shouldn't be too long before space clownboy, cpt. bengal, dukke and ozone, aka kedwards (along with several other posters) show up to get their shots in.

Miles has been gone 11 months but the butt-hurt continues with these clowns. The man won 114 games in just over 11 seasons but lets bitch because he didn't win 115. I'll be glad when the season starts and people can focus on the current team instead of dragging the previous coaching staff & teams thru the mud.

Our offense in the redzone is what made that unit as good as it was

44 touchdowns and 13 FGs in 61 trips was could enough for 4th best in CFB that year

you could say this about any team.

our qbs that year combined for 21 tds- 5 ints 62 compl% and we rushed for 35 tds. that's a pretty decent offense and in no way bad or hampering the team.

LOL
2011 offense made 80% of opposing defenses quit by 4th qtr.
It was also top 5 all time in offensive TDs and had insane RZ efficiency..

To all the Miles haters...the team scored 40 points per game. One team, one heartbeat. The desire be LSU fans to divide the team is Miles eventually failed. Our stupid fans are the reason we couldn't get Jimbo Fisher or Herman. It is also the reason we lost Saban. You bunch of numskulls. Just enjoy the wins and support the team. Geaux Tigers.

First, we did beat Bama the first time. Second, Les loved him him JJ and the whole chemistry of the Offense turned after that brilliant Les-ism. Bama should never have qualified for the NC game that year.
