Shaw, Williford, and Parsons are all HUGE.
I hope Lonergan can push T-Bob at center. Hebert is just too small, but he might be better next year as he is further removed from his knee injury.

you have people playing for the first time instead of Helms and Big Herm.

we were spoiled with Helms. do you people not realize how important the center is?

Tolliver isn't a WR in the first 3 rounds. One thing is his blocking needs to improve. Second, his route running is sloppy...not my statement by the way but specifically mentioned on the Florida broadcast by Danielson. And I have seen it before...his routes are rounded and not crisp. Also, he drops more passes than he should. His main asset now is his yards after the catches. Walker from Washington is still trying to tackle the guy after being juked twice for TDS in that game.

Yep, Helms was underrated. Johnson got the pub but Helms was just as important. But with Miller there to sub for him, his presence wasn't missed quite as much. What has disappointed me has been Ciron Black. He had a better SO and JR year than a SR season. Some of these sacks have been right by Black.

Really, a new OC would do wonders for this team, even with those losses.

At WR we will return Toliver and Randle. Thats a pretty solid top 2. Out of Clairborne, Taylor, and Tolliver we should get a decent #3. I expect Peterson to do something at TE/WR eventually. Calhoun might make the move to WR too.

At RB we will have Ford and Ridley. Lets face it, KW and CS arent HUGE losses. KW doesnt see the field that much. CS was a product of a great OL last year. Ware could make some noise as a true frosh possibly, he looks damn good.

At OL Shaw has gotten good reviews out of practice. Hardrick looks damn good and might replace Ciron. Its not like Hitt is that great. What we really need is a new OL coach.

So like I said, we really need a new OC and new OL coach more than anything.

it doesn't help when JJ's 20ft, 3-step, drop out of the shoutgun puts him at th exact point that the DE is rushing towards.

Every runningback's success is based on the offensive line's ability to open holes...If there arent any holes not even Walter Payton would get many yards

you think 2 undersized freshman will get a lot of PT as true freshman?

Left tackle is going to be a tough one to fill next year.Isn't there a juco guy coming in that they are high on?I've heard Faulk was being groomed for that spot but he is going to have his hands full if they're relying on a rs fr.
I just don't have confidence in Barksdale at LT.He is a solid run blocker, but hes stiff as a board in pass protection.

The competition among Hurst, Spencer, Shaw, Blackwell, & Lonergan, should be interesting. There's really no need to expect things too early from the guys in the HS class of '09 or '10 (Faulk, Ainsworth, Lowe, etc.).

Barksdale isnt going anywhere, and i doubt Toliver does either. Pretty good year for WR's potentially coming out.

Hopefully next year our QB play will be a positive...Its going to have to be if we want to do anything on offense.

Shepard needs to be involved A LOT more, if not possilbly start depending on how JJ finishes this season

better qb play means better year than this year...the other positions shouldn't see any real drop-off

-Improved play at QB (sooner or later..)

-Shepard at #3 WR/slot/RB

-TT/Randle is a decent 1-2

-Ridley/Ford/Seastrunk* (who will never get used)

-Improved OL play (Size/experience increase next year)

-It cant get any more pathetic.

Well, I think Chris Faulk backs up Ciron Black. And Will Blackwell came in for Josh D so I assume he is the third guard over Spencer. So you're looking at:

Faulk
Dworaczyk
Hebert
Blackwell/Hurst
Barksdale

This means we return three, and those three should be improved. If the whole group hasn't improve, it may be time for Strudjwa to go.

TE:
#19 DeAngelo Peterson (Jr.)
#83 Mitch Joseph (Jr.)

This is definitely an area of concern unless Peterson improves his blocking or Travis Dickson winds up being as good as his brother was as a freshman.

WR:
#80 Terrance Toliver (Sr.)
#2 Rueben Randle (So.)
#16 Jhyryn Taylor (So.)
#21 Chris Tolliver (So.)

I'm looking to Chris Tolliver to step in and become a solid #3 option. This depth chart should look enticing to Trovon Reed, though. WR could definitely be a problem area for 2010.

RB:
#26 Richard Murphy (Sr.)
#42 Michael Ford (RS Fr.)

+ Ridley and Calhoun. Hopefully Calhoun can become our new scat back and Ridley can be a short distance back. Of course, this is Miles, and he'll probably sit everyone but Ford.

Shepard/Lee/Jefferson/Garrett

My biggest hope is that Jefferson improves. I don't see any reason why he won't. Most QBs do.

All in all, we could be screwed. The oline could suck again. The receiving corps could be thin. We may have no all-purpose TE. We definitely won't have a proven every-down running back.

On the other hand, the oline could improve. Jefferson will improve. Ford is a beast. Our top 2 receivers are silly-talented.

It could go either way, really.

Even though we lose those guys. I think we will have a better offense. We will still have plenty playmakers and JJ will have another year under his belt. With an experienced qb there is no way we will be worse. TT, RR, and RS are big playmakers. We use Ridely, Richard Murphy, and the freshmen as the running backs by committee. Replacing Hitt might be an upgrade. The only real loss that I don't have a remedy for IMO is Ciron Black. Hopefully Chris Faulk is the second comming.

- Barksdale goes nowhere, either stays at RT or moves inside to G like Brian Johnson did
- sincerely doubt TT goes
- Mitch Joseph should put on 10-25 lbs and play LT

I'd like to think a more experienced QB/ C battery and a couple other returning OL would help, but our player development for OL and QB seems to be lacking at best. hoping RR and Shep get more involved in the "back half" of the season like KW did as a freshman, but who knows at this point.
