It’s his opinion and you know what they say about opinions?

LSU's defense in the second half of the season wasn't playing well at all

No joke. They were awful. You could have sworn that was a Bo Pelini-coached unit. Really brutal in the losses to KY and Arkansas

I’d love to see a link to a POST-bowl OFFICIAL poll.

Georgia's season got off to a rocky start in 2007, with two losses in the first five games.

It was two losses in their first six games.

Beginning Week 6, they were a completely different club

Week 6 they were getting spanked by the Tennessee team that actually DID win the SEC East and earn their trip to Atlanta by proving ON THE FIELD to be the better team, "destroying" them 35-14 after running out to a 28-0 halftime lead.

Blowouts vs Florida, Auburn and Georgia Tech in 3 of their last 4 games

Two of which were closer wins that Tennessee's win over Georgia . . .

And who was the top 10 team UGA beat by 41 like LSU did Va Tech? Oh, that's right; UGA couldn't beat ANYBODY by 41 (not even Hawaii . . . or Vandy, or Troy, or Western Carolina!).

Got that right. Georgia did LSU big favor by clobbering Hawaii. An undefeated Hawaii team could have stolen a national championship from far better teams.

Georgia whom they could not have beaten at that point in time.

Laying aside the questions about the specifics you have quoted, there is no question that Georgia was playing better than Tennessee at the end of the year. It’s just ridiculous that you feel the need to denigrate Tennessee and most of the SEC in order to try to make your point. It would have been sufficient to point to Georgia’s credentials. LSU may have struggled to beat them with Flynn out and a beat up defense, particularly Glenn Dorsey. It really was a snapshot in time proposition. The LSU team that beat Ohio St in the BCS title game was capable of holding their own against Georgia and LSU’s overall body of work was superior.

That happened in 2019, not 2007.

LSU defeated 4 Top 15 teams in 2007:

Again, you do not know what the frick you are talking about but I am not surprised as your takes are always incorrect.

2007 final rankings

2007 LSU football schedule

Virginia Tech
Florida
Auburn
Ohio State

Plus Tennessee.

That's five teams or all of the fingers on one of you hands.

Edit: I was confusing two years but 5 top 15 final rankings team were defeated, something that had never been done prior.

West Virginia?

LSU did not play West Virginia in 2007.

They played--

Virginia Tech
Middle Tennessee State (cupcake)
Tulane (cupcake)
La Tech (cupcake)

2007 was not the same year as 2011

I'll never forget when they announced the final score for the USC-Stanford game over the PA system in Tiger Stadium during the Florida game. It was the loudest I've ever heard Death Valley.

I thought that game was a straight up beat down (for the most part it was) but then we played OU in 2019.

I swear we could’ve scored 100 in that game if we wanted to.

South Carolina was ranked when we played them, meaning we beat 6 ranked teams. Based on what we played them as not how they finished.

VaTech
USCe
Florida
Auburn
Alabama
Tennessee

Tennessee... was not a very good team. LSU lucked out MIGHTILY by playing them, not Georgia, in the SECCG. That was the luckiest break of many for LSU that year.

Georgia sure was lucky they didn’t get Tenn either. Oh wait…

2019 was my favorite watching the Tigers for obvious reasons, but overall for a college football fan 2007 definitely takes the cake. It was chaos around the country every single week, I attended at least three of the craziest LSU games of all time, and we won the natty even with 2 losses. I lost count of how many unique teams were top 5 that year, it was plenty and more than a few that haven’t been since.
