As a clemson fan ive seen a great qb come through Clemosn not so long ago in Deshaun Watson. Watson is now considered a no doubt top10 qb in the nfl, and I'd put him at 7 or 8 in my rankings. Dabo said Watson was the best qb and leader he had ever coached. Watson was amazing, the scary thing that all us Clemson fans quickly realized last year was that we followed up a "once in a generational leader and talent" with an even better leader and qb. (No knock on Watson I love him still my favorite player to ever come through Clemson) I think LSU fans, if im not mistaken, understand what I'm talking about when it comes to Burrow. Now I've only see Joe play 4-5 times this year, but I got the same kinda feeling when I watched him play. (different than a tua or fields who are great college qbs, but not yet great qbs) The best 4 college qbs imo the last 5 years have been in no order, Lamar, Deshaun, Burrow, Trevor. It was too bad lamar was on a poo poo team.
However my question to you guys is do you think Burrow and Trevor are already top 10 qbs in the country? I've seen how both take over games, and make the right decision 99% of the time. Both will be the #1 pick in the draft, Trevor is 3 years younger than Joe, but similar game experience. I'm telling you guys the two qbs going out there Monday night along with Lamar and Deshuan are going to tear up the nfl for years to come. We all just have to sit back and relax and enjoy the greatness.

To answer my own question I have them sitting at 9 and 10 when compared to current nfl qbs. But from a potential wise to start a franchise around I can only think of 1 or 2 qbs Id rather have. This just rarely happens in NC game. Our first one of our recent run was Coker vs Deshuan then deshuan vs hurts then trevor vs tua ( ive always though tua is overrated maybe you lsu fans have thought on that)

anyway you can't hate a guys like Joe Burrow and Trevor Lawrence. Though theyve had different paths and different journeys they both do things the right way, and set a good example for their communities and young children that root for them

You're probably right...Tua is close to this category, but most of his advantage is that receiver corps.

Before them it was Cam, Tebow, the Texas kid and probably the most efficient QB prior to JB, USC's Carson Palmer

Trevor is not in the same class as Burrow. He might be when all is said and done, but right now Burrow is way better. Burrow is better than Watson was, too. And Watson was better than Trevor.

Are you including the NFL? Because surely you know that Burrow and Lawrence are the 2 best QB's in college football. To say they're in the Top 10 in CFB is much more of an insult than a compliment.

i mean top 10 qbs in the country period not nfl not college not afl xfl free agent...
Also yall do know Trevor hasn't lost a game since high school. If you think Burrow and Trevor arent comparable then you just don't know football. Has Burrow had the better season? Of course. From a talent perspective and how they prepare and go out and beat their opponents because of talent and decision making they are two of the best to ever do it in college. yall remember that Trevor has put up 44 points in the natty last year ( and would have been in the 50s had we not decided to not score on our final 10 min drive) yall should think burrow is the goat, because yall are having an amazing season. But dont underestimate a guy that has only lost 2 fooball games since week 1 of his freshman year of hs

Trevor isn't in Burrow's league. If Trevor is in Burrow's league, then why has he thrown for far fewer yards, thrown more interceptions, and threw far fewer touchdown passes relative to Burrow? Finally, why is Trevor's passing rating far lower than Burrow's passer rating as well?

Moreover, a little known fact, in the past three games, LSU's defense has held its opponents to 100 yards less total offense than Clemson's defense has.

It seems that once Clemson stopped playing cupcakes and started to play some teams with a pulse, the reality of their defense started to show up and become exposed.

im obviously a huge Burrow fan, an even i wouldnt try to say he is already better than 22+ NFL starting QBs who are almost all older than he is.

So i definitely wouldnt say that for TL either.

they MAY be at some point, but to make that distinction now is homerism at its best

this means very little to me until a QB reaches the NFL. There is just too much disparity between college teams to use W/L records as the sole stat line for proving a QBs ability.

In the last 29 games Clemson has played, they had an extreme talent advantage against all of them except Bama.

By every metric Joe Burrow is THE BEST QB in CFB. There's no objective argument to be made in rebuttal.

Trevor Lawrence is arguably one of the top 10 QBs.

Trevor hasn't shown the football IQ or decision making ability that Joe has this year. It isn't even close.

His ceiling is higher because he is more of a freakish specimen but he isn't as good of a QB at this point.

The last half of the season they have been pretty close. Nobody is denying that Burrow has had the better year throwing. TLaw has the better rushing stats. They are both great but TLaw has more talent imo. Burrow is a man on a mission and has become a great QB. They are certainly in the same class tho.

LSU's defense is chalking off all the qbs behind Joe.

Can't keep up.

We run a balanced offense is one of the reasons why. We have way more rushing yards. Burrow has been great tho. 199 passer rating over the last 3 months compared to TLaw 188. Both are great but Burrow has been playing amazing ball. We have played 5 Os in the top 5 during the season while y'all have also played 5. So don't give me the crap that Clemson plays bad teams. Y'alls D has been played great lately tho no doubt.
