Any thoughts on why would LM play the 1st team vs the second team . Just seems like you get better going against the best.

Don't they split up the teams and have a mix of 1st and 2nd teamers on each team? It's not really 1st team vs 2nd team.
And they do that so more players can get more reps and all that. You get to look at more players.

Also in years past it has clearly been a mix on both sides.
You look at the rosters and you would see 1s and 2s and purple and white.

This is why Spring games do not tell us much. I understand the concept of 1's vs 2's. All the healthy 3's will play as well. Many guys who have little chance of playing in the fall will play. This is a glorified game for the fans and media, but in reality it is the last official practice of the spring.
All teams do this every year. Many of the players will be busting their butts to make an impression as in all practices. The difference is we as fans and the media get to see this one.

I imagine you will see a good rotation of 1v1, 1v2, 2v2, 3v3 like every closed scrimmage thus far.
There are just 3 set units of offense and defense with Harris and Jennings rotating between 1st and 2nd offense.
