If you are there during the week, go to Bellue's on scenic highway just north of Chippewa during the day.

Food is awesome and worth the trip

Parrains and Chimes is good. Mike Anderson's is not as good as it used to be.

If you want Italian, go to DiGulios and only DiGulios. Do not take any recommendations for Geno’s.

If you’re gonna hate on Gino’s at least spell it right. Btw it’s a lot better than DiGulios

No love for Anthony's Italian Deli?

Also, I miss Pocarella's. I'm guessing the old man died?

Go to Mike Anderson’s and get a dozen chargrilled and a broiled seafood platter.

That place has dropped in quality significantly. Food and service were bad the last couple times we went.

Making my 1st trip to Baton Rouge from Iowa for the A&M game
Bring Caitlin Clark with you.

Kim Mulkey wants to get her on campus and convince her to stay!

Have a great trip and stay around the LSU campus the entire time. DO NOT venture off campus!

On a serious note, hit up the LSU campus, Mike's cage, etc.

It’s a habitat, not a cage.

Get to the game early and soak up the pregame and tailgating. You will make many new friends.

If you are an Aggie fan:
Eat at Parrain’s. It’s shite compared to other seafood places.
Go downtown and wander around on Government street.
Go to the midnight holler practice. You’ll need it.

If you are not an Aggie fan:
Food:
Mike Anderson’s - it fell off a couple of years ago but since they quit selling AB products and their food and service quality has gone up in the past 6 months. Otherwise try Roux 61 it’s about the same. Drusilla’s is a nice time trip to the 80’s but the food isn’t too bad. Also look into SoLou pork skin appetizers and cotton candy desert.
Steak - Sullivan’s. I’m not a fan of Ruth’s Chris but the Baton Rouge version is the best. There are two Doe’s locations to never eat at as the menu is completely different from the other and BR unfortunately is one of them. Also the murder rate around there is significant.
All around cool vibes- The Pastime under I-10 has really good poboys, pizza, and a vibe unlike no other on game day. Bar is as old school as it gets and they have a bus for $20 gets you to the game and back. Chimes - never had a bad meal there and virtually any kind of beer you can think of.
Post game - most underrated brunch out there is TJ Ribs. No one is there at 11:00 and unlimited bloody Mary’s or mimosas. Waffles, chicken, ribs, etc. Cures the hangover.

Sights- new and old capitols or Mikes habitat. I’m sure there’s other stuff to see.

But most importantly- do not die.
