• There were 2 tied NFL games
• The Indians lost the World Series in 7 games
• LSU beat the nation's No. 1 team in Death Valley

In 1908:

-Cubs won the World Series
-LSU won national championship (although we don't officially claim it)

Well, does that means LSU won't win because a Clinton is not currently president?

But let's not forget that LSU lost the following weak in 1997 after beating the No. 1 team.
