So damn close.

And Nebraska was a far better team.

Nebraska fumbled at least 3 times. That helped!

To this day the '82 team is my favorite football team ever, and hating to be that guy, but Michael Brooks was still a Senior at Ruston HS that year.

Correct amadeo. I played against him in the playoffs at Ruston that year. They only beat us 16-0. Kinda surprising. He was absolutely unblockable. I had something like 11 carries for minus 13 yards. Hilliard was an absolute monster that year for us. Still one of my top three all time players.

He's my second favorite all time player only behind Charles Alexander.

I was there. We easily could have won. Nebraska was a powerhouse back then. I couldn’t believe how many of their fans made the trip to the game. It was before LSU fans traveled in big numbers.

Dave Remington is STILL holding Ramsey Dardar’s jersey.

Perhaps so, but to this day I have never seen a center come off the line of scrimmage as quickly as he did.

His technique was brilliant as the simultaneity of him hiking the ball and his forward thrust was in perfect harmony.

I was literally hollering for a flag on just about every play.

Was at the game in our RV. Dealing with riots all over the place. Was told it is best not to leave the parking area. Kinda scary, but was a great game and heartbreaking loss

I was a student at LSU at the time. I did not go to that game, but my most memorable game in the student section was the Night it Rained Oranges, the game we won to get there.

Eric Martin made a crazy diving one handed catch that game... he literally came out of his shoe when he planted his foot. I still remember that play and wish I could find video of it. Tough loss.
