Who: LSU Tigers (3-0) vs Marquette Golden Eagles (1-2)
What: Legends Classic Game 3
When: Monday, November 23rd - 6:00pm
Where: Barclays Center - Brooklyn, New York
How:
***TV: ESPN2
***Radio: 98.1FM
***Stream: ESPN3.com

After a 2-0 start in the Legends Classic Regional Rounds, LSU finally heads to the Barclays Center to take on Marquette, who haven't had the same success as the Tigers. Marquette is 1-2 on the season after tough losses to Belmont and Iowa. Their lone win is an OT thriller against IUPUI. Still, Marquette will be a challenge for LSU.

Marquette will use more zone defense than LSU has seen this year so LSU will have to hit outside shots. So far this season that hasn't been much of an issue with LSU shooting 38.2% from three point land, however traveling across the country and playing in a new gym will be obstacles 4th year coach Johnny Jones will have to prepare for.

Tiger fans should be happy to hear that Elbert Robinson is listed as probable and will likely start for the Tigers on Monday night. Marquette center, Luke Fischer (6'11" 245 Jr), will have his hands full as Robinson has slowly started to make a big impression on the Tigers offense. Henry Ellenson (6'11" 245 Fr) will be tasked with guarding Ben Simmons. Ellenson was also a McDonald's All-American this past year, however due to injury was not able to play. It will be their first time playing each other.

On Tuesday, the winner of this game will play the winner of the Arizona State vs NC State game in the Legends Classic Championship, while the loser will play the loser of that game in the 3rd place matchup.

Keys to the Game

1. Rebounding - LSU's Coach Jones has said that LSU is putting more work into rebounding in practice, but can LSU actually fix the problem they have had with their current roster? Will be a big key to winning in the Barclays Arena.

2. Turnover Battle - LSU has been exceptional with their 53/31 assist to turnover ratio. Almost as impressive is that they are forcing a 27/41 ratio for their opponents. Can LSU force Marquette into turning the ball over 19 times like Iowa did to the Golden Eagles last week? That has to be a goal for the Tiger team.

3. Shooters Touch - LSU has shot the ball very well in the friendly confines of the PMAC, but can they continue to shoot the rock away from home? This is the Tigers first time playing away from home and it will be interesting to see how the Tiger shooters respond.

Prediction:
LSU 1.07PPP
Marquette 0.94PPP
73Possessions

LSU 78, Marquette 69

pretty disappointed at how poorly Marquette has played this season, but you never know when you go on the road for the first time. I'm really hoping our experience in Australia helps us figure it out quicker.

The line is currently at -5.5 for LSU... If I was a betting man, I'd be all over that.

Hopefully Ben brings it and can get their bigs in early foul trouble.

It can't be that bad.

Interestingly enough, fouling hasn't been a problem at all so far this year for Marquette. They are top 20 in least fouls per possession in the NCAA.

Great to hear about Robinson, we need all the big bodies we can get. Should be interesting to see how we handle our first big test of the year. Let's win this and get a rematch with State.

I really want to play NC State again. That would be a very hard fought game.

South, explain how Marquette sucks so far. They seem to be enormous down low. Why can't they at least dominate these small teams?

And my bald spot isn't bad, more like just thinning haha

Belmont hit 12 three's in their win. In the Iowa and IUPUI games, Marquette has 19 and 20 turnovers.... Rebounding has been pretty good for Marquette, but they are turning the ball over too much and allowing some wide open jump shots.

Nice! Charleston is only 3 hours away, I'm looking forward to being at that one.
