WW revived a dead program and did it with energy and passion. The other three inherited Cadillacs and just kept them running.

Wade sucked at cheating, but he was doing it out of his own pocket. There's something to that, albeit stupid, that he was willing to ante up his own money to try to get the best talent with no help from boosters. You can't say he didn't care about the program.
And at least he wasn't creepily harassing coeds or bringing skanks with their kids to team practices.
