yep agreed. if we keep rotating 6 WR's we can keep running at a certain Db and wear him down. but we also need burrow to develop some chemistry with a couple we can depend on like anderson and sullivan.

Completely agree on point about chemistry. That's just a time and reps issue. I think Anderson, Dillon, and Sullivan may surprise in the next few weeks.

Haksins has chemistry with the WR's he's been throwing to for 2 1/2 years. He's at 72% with 11 TDs.

Burrow is a bit more accurate than Haskins, IMO. I know, I know. NOTHING says that now. But give it time. Y'all got yourselves a STUD QB!

And yeah, Burrow left OSU. But not because he wasn't the top dog. But, because if Meyer named Burrow, Haskins and Martell were leaving. Gone. Period. And Meyer would have had zero healthy backups. So, Meyer stalled naming a QB, then Burrow promptly said adios.

What's the avg comp % on 20+ yard passes?

I'm sure it's not great. Hopefully if they keep taking shots Burrow can get a little better than 27% (3/11)

Completing 45% of your passes three games into the season is a problem. It hasn’t cost us anything yet, but that doesn’t negate the fact that it’s a problem that needs to be addressed.

We have a better QB, but our passing game, overall, is worse than it was 16 games ago.

I, like many others, was impressed by our ability to control the ball for the final 5+ minutes to win the game. Nothing is more important than your team finding a way to win the football game. I would just like to see a better overall performance by our offense. Hopefully, that comes in the next two weeks.

low 30's to low 40's - but not with DB's grabbing tight on almost every play. The officials let way too much PI go uncalled. Burrow was on target with almost every throw. Don't know how he could toss it any better.

Would like to see more of the big guys - Dillon, Sullivan, and Anderson.

And to me, a PI is as good as a completion. So 38%. (just my personal take on it)

The actual length of the throws makes a huge difference in completion percentage. Probably why the long ones are called "shots".

100% agree. Almost all QBs are 75%+ on the behind the line to 3 yard stuff. Coach E seems to call more "shots" than pitty-pats.

The most encouraging stat in all of these long throws is the fact that we still don't have an interception... even against teams like Auburn and Miami.

It speaks to both accuracy and placing the ball where only the offense can make the play.

Can't wait until this offense takes off. We have the WRs and a QB. Hopefully it's soon because what Burrow was talking about this week and the schedule gets tougher after the next few weeks.

but there's more to it than just this. that throw he made in the 4th to giles was right where the ref had to call interference. that takes moxy and that is the kind of thing that will give lsu a chance against bama and uga provided the playcalling is up to snuff

I had exactly the same take - that Burrow was capitalizing on the fact that Auburn was gassed, and they were interfering on all the long balls.

Burrow landed the ball right in front of the back judge.

right now, LSU's receivers are getting very little separation. The only completely wide open throw Burrow had all day was the sideline route to Jefferson. The pass to Dillion took an absolute dime from Burrow to make it happen.

How many guys are getting wide open against LSU? You think we’re the best nly team that tries to cover the receivers? It’s major college football, man, they cover the receivers. QBs have to make throws.

The zebras let both teams basically tackle opposing receivers most of the game vs Auburn. Not sure how much you could see on TV, and I noticed they didn’t talk about on replay but both defenses held the receivers most of the game.

Just saying, some of those passes may not as been off as it looked
