quote: I thought Ensminger was the mastermind behind 2019, was this not true? I don't think anyone ever said that. The question was "who was calling the plays?" and that answer probably comes with an "*".
Coach noted this morning that Peetz and Mangum proved to him that they know how to run Brady’s offense. My question is who or what is he hinting at?

When you have 2 true fresh qbs and a oline that was mediocre at best it limits a team offensively...people do not get it.
Did you see any creativity in the run game to help the offensive line create openings? I didn’t. Did you see quick passes to the backs to create favorable matchups in space to supplement the run game? I didn’t.
I did see us continually running straight ahead into brick walls and running Chris freaking Curry laterally vs OM with 2 faster options available. I saw us run play action late in games when we had no threat of a run game. I saw us lose a game because of some absolutely abysmal playcalling st the 1 yard line when our offense was at full strength.
Feel free to prop up E as a play caller, but all I saw was the same guy from 2016 and 2018 with a better playbook in his hands and more talent to work with. There’s a reason he won’t be OC next year. And again, I really like the guy, but that doesn’t make him a great play caller. That’s what we need today. Not ok. Not good. Great.

Either they couldn’t teach it or got away from it.
You can't teach it if you can't practice. The guys who knew the plays were injured or opted out.
Did you honestly think freshmen QBs and freshmen receivers could run plays like a Heisman QB and Belitnikof winning WR? I know it looked so easy when Burrow, Chase, Jefferson, Marshall, Helaire, and Moss did it.
Since a freshman broke the receiving record, the last game of the season, somebody was coaching, and players were learning.

I agree with this - we struggled but I think a lot of things conspired to reduce our performance
1)First time starters at QB that needed real game experience to gain confidence and improve execution. Brennan and Max both improved game by game. TJ Less so.
2)Tons of inexperience for wideouts and TE and backs. Backs that weren’t good at pass protection, catching the ball and lack of wiggle to make people miss. Key TE that didn’t want to block. Discontinuity due to quitters. Older fringe WR that couldn’t catch well.
3)Poor execution and less than stellar play calling 3rd down and red zone.
We really needed spring practice and non conference games to develop these guys before SEC play.
The defense was supposed to be the strength this year and really help the offense so blame that failure on Orgeron.

they’re going to run a lot of Brady’s offense in 2019. Also
Hopefully they run "their" offense, which incorporates some of Brady's schemes, and other things they picked up working with him, but I hate the thought of coaches having to run stuff they didn't come up with.

But it was still held back by mediocre playcalling and offensive scheming. It could have been better than it was in more capable hands.
I'm not excusing SE and Linehan completely, but you can't understate the difference in talent AND experience between the 2019 roster and 2020. We were 124th in CFB in returning production BEFORE Chase opted out. Throw in no spring and a COVID limited fall and those guys had a tough hill to climb. Then add the loss of your starter and only upperclassman QB. Then your Top 2 receiving targets opt out and McMath (originally starter) gets lost for the season.

O said the defensive hire will probably be done by the end of the week and will run a multitude of different styles.

All O does is talk out his arse.
Facts. Another day another mention for the Tugboat Captain helping to facilitate the relationship with Joe Brady on Peetz and Mangas.
That's embarassing O delegates such responsibility. Candidates want to hear from the head coach, not the Binder keeper.

I just wish O had this same mindset after 2019. If he was more concerned about stability and growth on that side of the ball instead of perception and receiving personal notary, the offense would have decent. He was so worried about proving he could do it without Burrow and Brady that he went away what worked and resorted back to his old ways to have it blow up in his face. Not to mention the smart comments about Aranda.

He also said it could take a coupe weeks but implied he wasn’t concerned, because he could handle the defensive side until the new DC hire.

Pretty much. Last year he had to have a 4-3 defense. Now he says the defense has to be multiple. He truly is a used car salesman.
Well, we did run a 4-3 defense this year. It did not work.
So now, he sees that (even though it could be too late) and is adjusting and wants someone who can be multiple. This isn't rocket science.

Oh, now he sees it!?
Did we hire a head coach at LSU in hopes that one day he figures out what makes a team successful?

we hired a head coach who won a national championship in his 3rd season, and was deservingly given the opportunity to try a different defense. It didn't work. He now has to to fix it.

Sarks offense was completely different from Brady’s in 2019. The results were similar and dominant, but Sark runs a playaction, NFL style offense. Brady runs an RPO, spread style scheme.
bullshite. Same offense with minor adjustments to fit personell.

90% bitching. Typical fricking Louisiana. frick.
Louisiana doesn't suck, it's the people that do.

Correct
Bunch/Stack/empty formations with RPO.
Also, did no one notice the Empty sets or Motioning the RB to an empty set...which forced the D to show man or zone? SE didn't bring that concept from 2019.
2020 alabana offense was 2019 LSU

DL coach Ryan Neilsen of the Saints may be in the mix for the DC job.
