how incredibly difficult could it fricken be to put results based clauses in the damn contract?

Good luck getting all Athletic Departments on the same page.

This is fantasy, thinking something like this can happen.

The PROBLEM is how long the contract is and for HOW MUCH $.

Offer less money for less years and the only one applying is Sam Pittman.

The sad news is if you want someone better than Brian Kelly, you're going to have offer someone MORE for LONGER.

Now that there is nil that has to be paid to players, you can't also have horrible 10-year contracts/buyouts for coaches. There's no way the fans and the boosters can afford all of that

The way I see it, the length is a moot point. The guaranteed amount is what they look at. Essentially it took 100m to get BK for ANY duration of time from 1-10 years.

A caller on the show mentioned a law suit against LSU involving B.K.. Asked if it could be grounds for termination. They're reply was basically , that they were not advocating for his firing. Anyone know what they are talking about.

Give someone 12 mil a year for 5 years. Guarantee it all. You're light years ahead of where we are now.

Give somebody 15 million a year for that matter. At least that way you're buyout isn't absurd like this b.s.

Youre buyout on two years would be 24 - 30.

If he would not take a reasonable contract , they should have moved to plan B . I always saw ND as an overrated team with $$$$ alumni who somehow squeezed their fannies up there to overrated rankings . Am I wrong ??

5yrs at the most.
Anything more is ludicrous and foolish to lock urself into. That’s what rollovers are for.

Was the winningest coach at the time. Take a look around all the head coaches that are hired. They're hired because they win.

And Jordan Jefferson is one of the winningest QB’s in LSU football history and was almost top 5 in yardage when he finished his career. Why? Because he played more games in his career than anyone else.

BK has been around for a long time so he has a lot of wins. His individual seasons have largely been mediocre and he’s completely shite the bed when he’s had the chance to do something noteworthy in the postseason.

I feel like the entire fanbase just went silent for about 30 minutes when he was hired, because what the frick. The talking heads combined with his great interviewing skills made people warm up fast, but it was not a good hire.

What bothers me the most about BK's contract is that after Ed Orgeron collected double digit millions when they fired him, if they do the same with Kelly, it will send a big old message to all coaches that LSU is the place to be the head coach when you are ready to retire a rich man.

BTW, if ya'll go back and look at films of the Florida game, you will notice that every time Nuss dropped back to pass, he was looking right at the man he was going to throw the ball to when he took the snap and watched him run his route until he threw him the ball. You can't stare down your receiver and expect the defense won't see where you're going with the ball.

A good coach would catch that and and have his QB coach work on it with him. There are some QBs in pro ball that do it and they just can't understand why the have so many passes intercepted.

It was a very good hire at the time, just a bad fit. No way this lasts much longer.

You're banking on your coaches getting caught red handed in 4k doing something awful in order to fire them without pay.

That is what LSU should be banking on.

Finding an out for a just cause release: gross negligence recruiting violation, violation of university policy, character unbecoming of a coach, etc. It just has to be something big to make a big splashy ESPN headline and the university is forced to fire or release his contract for just cause.
