While I think that 10 wins as a floor for this team is not correct, it does feel as if the pieces are there to absolutely win 8 or 9. Just from a standpoint of program health, we should beat Auburn and Florida. I am not sure if I buy into the TN hype, but that game is at home. A&M is in the same boat as us with no returning QB, and I think Arkansas will be worse this year (lost almost entire defense and best player). So just from that stand point, we should be able to win 8-9 games.

We have talent, but not a lot of depth. As long as the injury bug doesn't bite us, CBK should win about 9 games. I understand the fear because of how we performed the last two seasons, but the interviews with players have made me feel really good about the team buying in. If our transfers gel really well, our QB (whoever it is) can get the ball to our extremely talented receiver group, while we are able to run the ball effectively, and we play disciplined football (something lacking in years passed), we are an extremely dangerous team.

ut whatever spin you want on last season, the fact of the matter is that we have been ~.500 the last 2 seasons. Everybody in the SEC west has talent. 6-6 would be a a slight underperformance in my opinion, but much more likely than 10-2.

Ok I’m gunna try and be nice with this but that is a very basic and simplistic view of last season. It’s is not a “spin” if it’s true. LSU went 6-7 last year. Yes. That’s true. LSU also beat very very good teams the last two years and play close with some of the best teams. So let me ask you this, do you think we improve or regress?
Also I wouldn’t exactly call guys like JBC, Sevyn Banks, Wingo, and the DBs from Arky fkn scrubs. They’re all talented guys that played at D1 schools. Some of them have earned serious accolades and transferred because of injury. I think you’re underselling them by a lot.

Love the enthusiasm, but you gotta cool the jets. This team has talent holes, if not holes in general. O left a void, and unfortunately, it’s gonna take more than a year to fix it. ANYTHING above 7-5 should be considered a win year for BK.

How quickly they forget just 6 months ago we struggled to find 38 scholarship players for the K State bowl game.

Yes, but that is the beauty of the transfer portal. With players returning from injury, and the transfer portal we are close to being back to normal numbers. You don't have to wait two years anymore to reup on talent. It can be done in an off-season.

I didn’t see Bama, UGA, Ohio St, Clemson, etc beating down their doors to take them onto their squad.

All are nice improvements, but O left a huge hole that will take 2-3 signing classes to have a top 5 type roster again.

Well, JBC was all Big 12. Banks was from Ohio State. Brooks and Foucha were starters at another SEC west school that won 9 games last year.

Sevyn Banks came from Ohio State……. He left because he had a bad hip injury. Beforehand he was quite good.
Also none of those teams had the same situation as LSU. Things aren’t perfect right now, but they aren’t so bad that this team can’t be competitive. They were competitive last year. Just piss poor coaching. The talent is still there.

I think Our roster has improved from the point at which we were playing the best last season.

Foucha is the most important transfer we had imo, Bernard is good, the rest of those db’s are replaceable level players so far in their career. We need them, but we should be able to recruit better.
I think we win 7 games, maybe 8 if dart isn’t as good as advertised at ole miss.

7-5 is a disaster. That means we will have list 5 SEC games. Unacceptable. Sorry down vote me away.

Well just to let ya in on something...LSU only had 37 returning scholarship players where Bama had 71 and Tex A&M had 70... There are reasons kids are in the transfer portal...some will maybe make an impact but most will not. It's just math...That came from a position coach on LSU's staff right now...He said he just hopes the people can be patient and let them build...They will be lucky to win 8

Some of you guys love to pump up other teams and discount the tigers.

Bama hit the portal for a tackle just like us. Problem was we took Frazier the freshman all American off the board before they had a chance to recruit him.

With our terrible numbers we beat the amazing Texas AnM that you fools keep loving on.

It’s sad how some of you posters just can’t be optimistic.

Like it or not we have the 3rd most stacked roster in the conference behind Bama and Georgia.

It’s fair to expect that the new regime coach up all this talent.

The ceiling is 9 for this year. I think 7 or 8 is more realistic. New QB, New O line questionable on RB's and LB's. If Kelly pulls off 9 wins this year, go to your closest church and offer vociferous praise, because you are going to need a few miracles.

Nothing wrong with upbeat enthusiasm about upcoming season but realize Kelly has not coached one game yet. New coach and staff will take time to make an impact.

Very nice! I don't disagree and want to believe I'm as excited as the next guy buuuuttt my optimism will hinge on how well the O-line plays/gels in the first few games & how they progress throughout the season.

Wins/losses will fall back on the O-line play more so than any other position with the defensive secondary following closely.

Providing both position groups gel/build consistency through the season LSU just may surprise even the most sceptic fans.

We lack depth across the board. Have big holes in the secondary and at Tight End. 10 wins is very optimistic. 7-8 wins is more likely.

Anything is possible. In 2018-2019, I thought they'd only win 7.
