In a vacuum, I agree with this statement. It will be nice to have a competent (and potentially great) coaching staff again. LSU will be competitive in every game they play, even if they have a few losses at the end of the season. Don't expect to see LSU get their asses kicked by 21 against Kentucky again (I know LSU doesn't play them this year, just using them as an example).

I think 10 wins in the regular season is doable. I expect a big step forward offensively, more balance in the run game and big plays from Boutte, Jenkins, Thomas, Hilton, and Nabers. Bech will be the glue piece that pulls it all together. This is gonna be a tough, tough team to defend with all the different pieces LSU has at WR/RB/QB.

Brennan/Nuss/Daniels
Emery/Bradford/Goodwin/Cain
Boutte/Jenkins/Bech/Nabers/Thomas/Hilton

That's a lot to have to defend. This coaching staff will have multiple packages that they can line up with with all the different skillsets these players have.

Think about the different skillsets that each QB has, from Brennan's pure dropback skills, to Daniels' running ability, and Nuss' ability to blend both styles.

At RB Emery is an explosive talent, Bradford is a slasher that can get open in the passing game, Goodwin is a shifty runner who can make guys miss tackles, and Cain is a bruiser.

At WR Boutte is an elite talent, Jenkins is the polished vet, Bech is tough and dependable, Nabers is great route runner and quick, Thomas is a huge, athletic leaper, and Hilton is a straight burner with track speed.

If the OL steps up, this is a potentially great offense.

I am. If we start converse and garner or banks They have more starting experience than most of the conference. Jay ward is in his money year. And we have a plethora of guys to choose from including Fouche and sage Ryan.

Don’t do this to yourself.

By year 3 of the BK era, I agree.

If everything breaks the exact right way, we may get 10 wins this year, but it just isn’t realistic to expect it.

This is just as unrealistic as expecting 10 wins.

I feel the OL will be improved. Not perfect but definitely better.
I’ve seen a bunch of people talk about the secondary(more specifically the CBs)
I understand the concern but we do have some dogs back there. We didn’t just pluck guys off the street. The DBs we got in the portal are solid. Not to mention the two guys that were here last year held Bryce young and the Bama offense to 20 points. If the freshman DBs can develop fast(which we have seen happen before) and help build depth, the secondary can possibly be a weapon. Not a liability

I say everyone pump the brakes just a touch

We definitely got stomped by KSU. But what about the part where we just dominated the transfer portal and recruiting. Dude we are about to take back what’s ours. Kayshon Boutte and our DLine is about to go crazy.

Is it though? After consecutive .500 seasons?

I have always said that ten wins is a realistic goal for CBK’s first LSU team. To say ten wins is the floor is a bit unrealistic.

Depth isn't there. Backside of the season will be rough.

10 might be pushing it.

I have $500 that says this team doesn't win 10 regular season games this year. Let me know if you are willing to make a donation to my 2023 season ticket fund.

We could have a spectacular season and win 10+ games.

As a fan, I’m taking this season one game at a time.

That’s mostly because of piss poor coaching. Not lack of talent. Well now we have the coaching. We were a handful of plays away from having 3 more wins last season. Auburn, Arky, BAMA!!!!

In what area do you see talent holes? Other than TE I don't see any.

10 wins is certainly possible, but if you're expecting 10 wins, you may be disappointed. I could see us winning 10, but also winning only 7. Brighter days are ahead, but I have tempered my expectations for this season.

Easy, big fella.

While I admire your enthusiasm, you need to stop self-medicating, it seems. Our team, like you pointed out for Ole Miss, is in complete rebuild mode.

8-4 will be a pretty good season. 9-3 would be insanely good.

7-5 is likely.

Talent, yes. Depth, no. Thats what separates good and great teams. In a perfect world with no injuries, you may be able to win more games than expected but that's just not realistic. I'd be happy with an 8-4 type year and pumped with a 9-3 season.
