Being a Tiger and living here in Tampa with the legions of Gator and Nole fans, and the few USF Bull fans that are starting to jump on their bandwagon---I think that everybody in Florida can aggree that by far the most obnoxious fans are from the Miami Hurricanes. Their players are no longer the thugs, it's their fans. I would venture to say that 99 percent of them have never been to Miami, much less been to one of their games. It's not just the boys in the hood, but the want-to-be hood rats, who talk about their glory days. Unfortunately those glory days ended when the Tigers destroyed them in the Peach Bowl a few years ago. I root against "the U

I think obnoxious fan bases are those who don't win but still run there mouth (i.e. Ole Miss). We have no reason to run our mouth and talk about how we are going to beat your arse and whatever else they say because odds are since Eli left, we aren't and probably won't. I just like to watch football but most of our fans want to be idiots are predict upsets in TS and The Swamp and such..
There is my rant, sorry. But honestly, I am a diehard Ole Miss fan.

As delusional as they are, I actually like Bama fans. But the only fans I ever got into a fight with were from Ole Piss.

I agree with most of what she said about all of the teams in her Top 10 except the LSU/Tulane rivaly thing and our OOC schedule. Tulane hasn't been a "rival" in 20+ years and our bowl record against OOC opponents speaks for itself. That "eaux" thing has gotten so old it's sickening.

I think you are confusing obnoxious with delusional. Granted that there are ALWAYS Ole Miss homers out and about, talking smack about winning the west/SECCG/being a premier SEC program, but they are few and far between on Saturdays in the Grove. I think you party with the wrong folks. We all sit around and quietly pontificate about our possible wins/losses and upsets, but what puts an entire fanbase on this list is the fact that the condition is widepsread across the entire (or a major percentage) of fans.
Every fan base has it's idiots, this list brings to light the fan bases that are INFECTED with idiocracy. Ours, most certainly, is not. We could be described as snobbish, jealous, irrelevant and possibly even drunkenly annoying, but we don't even touch the top 25 in the obnoxiously stupid category. There are a few young, hammered, jackassed students chanting TSWRA that absolutely deserve that label, but as for Ole Miss fans from coast to coast, we are generally a quietly jealous bunch who just want to be relevant in the SEC again.
And one more thing. Regardless of how you view your own fans, don't come over here to a divisional rivals boards with this "sniveling drivel" expecting a pat on the back for being a "forward thinker". Believe me, THEY DON'T CARE!!! This kind of post will only come back to bite us in the arse. If you want to debate our fans on their level of obnoxiousness on one of our own boards, have at it, it's a republic. But for God's sake, keep it in the family.

I doubt seriously that any visiting fans at Michigan or Notre Dame have had garbage dumped on them from the upper deck or beer thrown at them from wherever....

Do you get the feeling that Clemson fans feel they belong in the SEC and tend to over-compensate for it? They call their stadium Death Valley and chant "Tiger bait" at visiting teams, but honestly, what have they done in the last 10 years? A golf championship in 2003? ("Spin that wedge! Disappointed in the LSU part - surely she could have come up with better stuff than that...port-o-let tip overs, flying bags of various liquids, batteries, burning fabric attached to Auburn vehicles, old lady's being smacked and cussed out by 5 year olds, millions of emails to various sports writers/espn, fans dressed as pimps.

blah, blah,blah... you know, you are the eleventy billionth rival poster who nonchalantly says this kind of stuff as if it were true. if only half of you people were right, we should be able to look around TS on any given saturday night and just see mounds of shite falling from the southeast upper every week, since that's the only place a visiting fan can really get targeted for something like that. I sit there with a perfect hind view of visitors to TS and rarely see any, and I mean anything happen to our guests. I have noticed over the years that certain schools have fans ( Ole Miss is one) that show up to TS with a nasty arse chip on their shoulder and are just looking for trouble, or a BS story to take home with them.

Many are. I enjoy some of it though. But the whole over the top cajun cooking thing is getting obnoxious. The next time they show some fat coonass and Mike Serio stuffing jambolaya in their pie hole, I may need to puke.
