I'd rather see the Tigers in the Outback Bowl, here in Tampa against a Big Ten team. That way my drive would only be 3 miles.

I went to a wedding with a similar situation a few years back. The reception was at a country club in Celebration (outside of Orlando) and the Tigers were playing the Gators in football. I kept sneaking into the locker room to watch the game, and before long, more and more people were joining me. The bride noticed what was going on and turned on the tv's in the rececption area, in order to get people back to the wedding area. The place quickly turned into a sports bar type atmosphere, because the booze was flowing and the game was going back and forth (the Tigers won). I had a great time, but I would say that most people didn't appreciate how the focus turned away from the wedding. If I were you, I would say no tv.
Jeff's Dad, I used to be as ignorant as you were years ago, before I married an Asian. Why don't you jump into this century and leave your slang racist terms behind?

Being a Tiger and living here in Tampa with the legions of Gator and Nole fans, and the few USF Bull fans that are starting to jump on their bandwagon---I think that everybody in Florida can aggree that by far the most obnoxious fans are from the Miami Hurricanes. Their players are no longer the thugs, it's their fans. I would venture to say that 99 percent of them have never been to Miami, much less been to one of their games. It's not just the boys in the hood, but the want-to-be hood rats, who talk about their glory days. Unfortunately those glory days ended when the Tigers destroyed them in the Peach Bowl a few years ago. I root against "the U :yack: " and Ohio State every week. :geauxtigers:

re: Michael Clayton

If he isn't injured, why make it up if your the organization? and not tell the player before the game? Kinda fishy to me...What organization treats their players like that?

_________________________________________________This should probably be on the "More Sports Board", but since the question was asked on this one, here is my opinion. Jon Gruden has a love/hate, "flavor of the week", type of relationship with his offensive players. Before he came to Tampa, the Bucs were known as a great defensive team that could not advance any further in the playoffs because of a weak offense. The owners got rid of Tony Dungy and brought in the "offensive guru" Gruden. He won the Super Bowl his first year, (because of the defense) and has alternated winning and losing seasons since. The one thing that is consistent, is his offense has finished at the bottom of the league every year. Gruden changes quarterbacks, running backs, linemen, and unfortunately for Michael Clayton, receivers, every year. Clayton had a bad second season, and Gruden has looked to replace him ever since. This will be Claytons last year in Tampa. Again, just my observation from living down here in Tampa. An earlier poster mentioned something disparaging about Clayton. I don't know if it is true or not, but he does have a great charity that he sponsors here, any you never read anything negative about him in the papers.

The "chest injury" is being used as an excuse to make him inactive. Mike has fallen out of favor over the past couple of years with the coaches because of him dropping the ball. After his great rookie season, he had an injury that affected him during his sophomore year. Ever since then, Tampa has brought in a free agent, and/or drafted a rookie to shore up the receiving corps. This year the Bucs brought in Antonio Bryant and drafted Dexter Jackson from App state to replace him. It's a shame, because I root for him here in Tampa, because he is a Tiger, but it seems like the guy drops an important catch every week when he's give the opportunity. Tampa has an injury to one its receivers this week and Bryant had two drops yesterday, so maybe Clayton will be given a shot this week against the Falcons. Also, Clayton said yesterday that he was "shocked" that he was declared inactive against the Saints. :geauxtigers:
I would moslty like to see the Tigers get some more gametime, quarterback practice before we play Auburn, but I'll have to settle for my Bucs spanking that Saint arse! :nana: Also, I agree with one of the earlier posters, the atmosphere at an outdoor stadium is so much better than in the Dome. That's why the Rays have such poor attendance--domes=boring games! :geauxtigers:

No, I was going to if the game was tonight, but I'll make the majority of them over there. I'm up in New Tampa.

Big and Rich

....just a little info. The opening for the College Gameday show was shot here in Tampa about 3 months ago, on the USF campus. There wern't too many people there (about 150, mostly hired extras) but the editing made it seem like a lot more. My wife and I tried to get into the shots with our LSU shirts and hats, but the hired extras had the painted faces and the college signs. Big and Rich were really cool. Even though it was hotter than hell, they did every take (8 hours worth) like it was their first time. :geauxtigers:

Damm Louisiana wimps; the French in you must be coming out. Face this Hurricane like men and play the game, or better yet just send it over here to Florida and we'll take on Gustav and Hanna at the same time! We buffer ya'll from most of the Tropical Storms and Hurricanes anyway. Bring 'em on!! :nana:
I'll go with 75,000 fans showing up. Also, if anyone is too pissed to go the game tomorrow, and carries that pissdam(?) over to the LSU/Florida game, and wants to sell me their face value tickets, I'll take them.
I get to go to the Tampa Bay Rays game tomorrow night. :nana:
Damm LSU!!!! I just checked the ESPN Classic programing schedule for tomorrow and the game is going to bump "Bassmasters", "PBA Bowling" and the 1986 Evander Holyfied vs. Dwight Qawi fight. We should just cancel the game. You don't want angry fishermen and bowlers on your hands! :banghead:
