re: 10-2 is the floor and 12-0 the ceiling. We have a senior laden team now but not next year.

What ever happened to our "fans"?
OP says we are going 10-2 or 12-0 and gets 250 down votes. What is wrong with you people?

It's called having realistic expectations. Take off the purple and gold colored glasses. All LSU fans would be thrilled if we went 12-0 this year but the likelihood of that happening is very low. Saying that doesn't make anybody a bad fan. Who knows, LSU could shock the world this season but there is far more evidence of an 8-4, 9-3 type of season (which would still be a big success for Kelly in year 1) than a 12-0 type of season. If you can't see that, I'm not sure what to tell you.

I agree but a LOT of people are predicting 6-6 or 7-5.

My own prediction is 9-3 but 8-4 wouldn’t shock me.

This teams ceiling and floor are almost the same.

I think 6-6 is just as unlikely as 10-2

There’s no guarantee they’ll be good either.

Hell, we all agree that the D line should be one of the most dominant in the country, but it’s far from guaranteed

Don't worry...these type fans will disappear from the board after our first loss.

No. They will come back louder than ever screaming to fire Kelly after not winning 10 games in a very obvious complete rebuild year.

I have over 240 downvotes and been getting destroyed by all the doom and gloom negative fans that just can’t find it in themselves to project a positive out look. I’m am standing by my projection after looking at all the seniors that have transferred in with playing experience and combining that with what the positive news from experienced coaches about their contributions and depth. Here are a few comments:

Kelly confirmed that the cornerback position has come a long way since the end of spring when depth was a question. I think we’ve got six corners that we feel we can play,” Kelly said. And that’s a far cry from where we were a few months ago.”

If you dive into what Kelly said about his offensive line as a whole earlier this week, it’s pretty clear that he really likes the five projected starters and their potential. But even he was quick to point out that the group needs time to grow and mesh together. “We have time to do it. I think if they continue to work together, we’ll have a nice unit there.”
Personally, I think this offensive line will surprise some people.

BK On the defensive line…

“We’ve got so much more depth now. A lot of younger guys are stepping up. Our front four, we’re experienced. We should be the most dominant front four in the NCAA this year. That’s my opinion. And we have a lot of young guys behind us that are getting better and understanding the game and getting the speed of the game more. Like Savion Jones, Makai Wingo, Bryce Langston is coming along, Quency Wiggins. All those guys are gonna be able to play this year.”

Mike Denbrock’s Comments On running backs and tight ends in the passing game…

“Tight ends, if we can continue their development, and the running backs in particular, are just going to make everyone around them better if they become a viable option in the passing game… With the wide receiver group we have, we’re all feeling pretty good about the depth that’s in that room and how explosive those guys are. Teams are going to do things to take them out of the game, and when they do that’s going to make some opportunities for other guys and we have to get them ready to make those plays.”

On the linebacker group…

We’ve got a great group. We’re deep. We’ve got a lot of talent. But I feel like with our expectations being so high — you know, coach House setting our expectation — we’re gonna get the job done regardless. The only question is who’s out there at this point.”

It is our time now! We have a team that could be the surprise of the SEC!

9-3 is the floor and if they win the bowl game to get 10 wins that would be a VERY SUCCESSFUL first year.

This is complete BS. We almost all have a positive outlook and expect BK to get the program back to championship level in short order.

But understanding the reality of the mess he has to clean up and that REALISTICALLY contending for a playoff spot likely isn’t in the cards THIS SEASON, isn’t doom and gloom.

There is hope and there is reason. We all hope for 10 or more wins but it is not a reasonable expectation THIS YEAR

I think that BK has used the transfer portal to restock this team with senior talent and lots of experience. He has mentioned many times the significant improvement in defensive Cb’s and Safeties with lots of quality there. Also touts the new O-line as having talent and will surprise a lot of people. And recently praised the talent and depth at LB. I trust his judgement over naysayers that call out the O-line, LB’s, and the Db’s as being a weakness.
I’m going in to this season with a positive attitude and outlook because of coach BK and is staff and the talent they brought in!

That's my thoughts too. A lot of people don't realize how good the other teams in the conference are going to be this year. Ole Miss,Tennessee, A&M, Arky.. going to be a lot of upsets in the SEC this year, across the board.
