So we should just accept 4th and 5th place SEC West finishes because we used to be worse in the 90's? Is that what you're saying?

This is going to sound harsh, but it needs to be said. Don't waste your time reading any post/thread that even looks like it may be leading to that line of BS.. Because that's exactly what it is, BS.. We should NEVER accept mediocrity, show complacency, or settle for anything simply because someone accumulated "X" number of wins over a period of time. It will look nice on a plaque for wall decoration, but doesn't mean a damn thing when evaluating the current situation.

People who continue to use this as an excuse to accept mediocrity aren't being rational. Their opinion is biased, based on PAST success, and shows no consideration for LSU's future. I'm thankful for our lone championship he won back in '07/8, but that was almost 10 years ago. It's past time to move on.

To put this in perspective, Saban did it in 5 years.. from SCRATCH. Not to mention he's won five SEC West titles, four SEC championships, and four national championships in 9 years, building the Bama program from scratch.

We can love Miles and appreciate what's he's done for us. We can even look past all of the bad calls, botched plays, bad time management, bad game management, and any other "clock-it" situations that we can think of.. But it's time to move on. I don't care how many games LSU has won BECAUSE of him or IN SPITE of him, it's just time to move on.. Because none of those "records" are winning us any games or improving our team TODAY.

I'm with you. Never will forget that national humiliation, and yet our awesome players are saddled with the same head case of a coach. I just don't get it and never will.

Because we are going to go 13-1 and win the National Championship! Only game I'm worried about is Arky away........scared we may have a let down after beating Bama the week before.

Agree on Auburn... Clemson's offense is light years ahead of ours right now, and Auburn kept them bottled up for 3.5 quarters. While Auburn did eventually give up 100+ yards to Wayne Gallman, Auburn held them to half of their normal points scored. I was pretty impressed with their D, mostly because I fully expected the orange tigers to score at least 6 or 7 touchdowns on the blue tigers.

And he has the second most wins of any coach in LSU history. And that's quite a history.Of course any fan not going back further than Miles and Saban doesn't know a whole lot about that history.

I know a lot about that history. I was hoping Miles would be here long enough to take over as the coach with the most wins in our history.

but not now. he has hired at least one extremely bad offense coach and probably two (OC and OL) he has allowed the most atrocious offense on the field for most of his post '07 tenure. 2013 was good (lousy D) but our all world WR's made that year.

last year I felt Miles should have one more year. but not now and yes, that's after one game.

silly me, I want an offense that.....

1-can get the plays to the QB in time for him to survey the defense and call an audible if need be AND give the OL time to survey and select their assignments. it is COMPLETE INCOMPETENCE on the part of an OC not to be able to do that. if it's Miles causeing the delays (play call by committee) then that's even worse. he's the cause of the problem; not the solution.
2-can field an OL that knows their assignments the majority of the time and not get their shite pushed in by any DL with a pulse.
3-a game plan that actually attacks the opposing defenses' weakness instead of the SAME DAMN PLAN FOR EVERY OPPONENT. run right at 'em. it completely befuddles me how hard it is to call plays when we have the same damn plan week after week.
4-field special teams with at least an average punter and kick off guy. and last year we couldn't even get downfield until the 10th game of the season.

In short, I am finally convinced that LES MILES has mailed it in. he's directing the program on behalf of his boys for grins and giggles (and 4.5 mi/yr) setting fat with a 12 mil buy out. I have lost all faith in him as a head football coach. check my posts; I have been one of his most ardent supporters.
