Not that this is directed at you but sometimes I just wish they would fire him or he would retire. In my dreams I think that would stop the complaining, but deep down I know it wouldn't. I miss the times when watching my alma mater was fun and didn't have to be over analyzed.

I melted down harder after the Tennessee game in 2010 than I have for any loss.
I was furious when it happened, not really assuaged when we won, then I got back to the house after the game and saw that shiteating grin on Les's face during his post-game interview and I lost it all over again.
I actually think 11 fixed it for me. The fun I had during that season was more than I could ever ask for a season of LSU football. I wasn't even mad after 1/9, just sorta shellshocked.

I agree with the 2011 sentiment. I used to hate Miles but now he just doesn't bother me. I don't always agree with his decisions but at the end of the day I think he gets a bad rap. The players love the guy and he gets kids to be passionate about coming to LSU. I know he can't talk worth a damn and can't manage a clock but his philosophies have kept us in games before and he is candid. Most games we lose he is damned if he does damned if he doesn't. I just don't always feel the need to blame someone. Sometimes we just lose.

Ready
This is the reason for all/most of our losses since 07. We had #4 back in the country Sat. With 15 carries a game, and gave him only 13 carries. It happens every time we lose and it kills me to watch but I know in the big games that what we do......
The ghost of crowton?

Questionable RB rotations during the Miles era,,,Running a one legged hester when Charles Scott was killing it all day, Forcing Lee to keep throwing against LA Tech when Keiland Williams had damn near 200 yards in a quarter, Taking hill out of the Clemson game when he was gashing them,,,,taking hill out of the ole miss gameplan after a fumble, Im not saying running hill less was the only reason LSU lost,,but goshdarn u got an all SEC caliber running back and u replace him with a 5'9 210 scat back(no offense to magee),,,,u just scratch your head. When LSU became one dimensional and they could tee off on immobile Mett,,,Game set and match.....

Better to be an LSU fan at peace with the losses than a Bama fan only maintaining sanity because they never lose.

That's exactly how I feel.

Took me awhile, but I've reached that point this year.

In the beginning when Les first got here and LSU played awesome D and just good enough offense. I took losses hard borderline alcohol poisoning loss to auburn 2006, delirium in the loss to kentucky 2007, cussing out dogs in the near loss to tennessee 2008, and tearing up my chandelier in the loss to ole miss 2009. Now when LSU commits the drive killing offsides penalty, or commits a turnover when in position to put away the competition or Benches its best offensive player so the other team has a chance to come back and claim victory(clemson). I just take the loss and move on....I must thank LES for calming me down. My wife, kids and dog aren't as fearful of me on Saturday Nights anymore. Thank
I hear you. Les Miles has killed my 30 year old hard-on for LSU football too.

You obviously haven't been around long. For your mental health, I suggest you pull for whoever is winning.

Indeed. Coach Miles is the best LSU can do. It's good to be at peace with this.
I like to socialize during LSU football parties. I try not to watch the game at all.
I DVR the game, and, if LSU loses, I just Delete without ever watching it.
As for 1/9, I knew LSU would lose that game, so, I deleted it without seeing more than a play or two during the party.
One must temper expectations and display a modicum of insight. Once one does these things, one no longer gets angry when it become evident that the standard of excellence in all things resides in places other than with LSU football.
Take pleasure in watching amateurs take the field coached by the man whom no NFL team will ever seek.

How'd you react to an L to UAB? The play of Josh Booty? Marcus Randall/ JaMarcus QB situation in 2004? Just curious.
right, because miles gives such and air of superiority of coaching UNLIKE saban when he was here. Miles definitely is better at recruiting, preparation, performance, management, discipline and attention to detail. No way would we take saban who won two sec titles and a nc in 5 years here. We would much rather have miles who did this in 9 years!

1/9/2012 mellowed me out considerably. I never got out of control like the original poster but I would be in a pretty foul mood. 1/9/2012 happened and I resolved myself to the fact that if Les Miles can't win a NC with the talent on that team then it just isn't going to happen. There is no reason to get wound up about it. Now I just kind of sit back and watch other people have their own similar epiphanies regarding Miles and laugh about it.

Indeed.
This is a logical conclusion. Coach Miles is not going to start beating teams that have more talent. This is now evident to all but the most obtuse.
LSU will out-muscle and out-talent opponents, or, lose the game.

Meh, I give credit for the coaching job in 2011 that gave LSU an undefeated season with a very unstable QB duo.

I give Miles credit for that year too, and he has a $4 million per year contract as a result of that year, but why was the QB situation unstable in 2011? Because Miles chose to replace Lee with Jefferson.

How many games can you count where miles has CLEARLY out coached the other guy and not won with an over abundance of talent and some luck?
2010 bama? WHo else? 2007 VT?

My overall impression after observation of all of these years of Miles's tenure is this: it's great that he is a great recruiter, because he needs superior talent to be the successful coach he is.
If today, he were to take charge of a program with lesser talent, he'd be a 6-6 coach.
I don't think that this is a great slam on Miles, but, it is a claim that he's not a football genius. At the end of the day, Coach Miles will not be mistaken to be a Vince Lombardi, a Knute Rockne or a Bud Wilkerson -- or even a Coach Sean Payton.
I'd like to see an all-time great coach come to LSU and coach for 20 years, but, that won't happen in any of our lifetimes. LSU is incapable or unwilling to accomplish that task.

I cannot argue with that at all. Hell, he was only 28-21 at good ole OKIE LITE!
