know we will never be able to get out of next years game or the following years home game vs. Clemson

Hope that the Tiger team isn’t as filled with cunts as this board.

BK is historically inept to show an ability to prepare for Game 1 against a team with a pulse.
0-1 with 3 to 5 SEC losses. No Nuss may led to 6+ SEC losses.

LSU should schedule soft opponents so it can qualify to play tough opponents in the playoffs?

How about if they can’t beat Clemson, then maybe they aren’t properly a playoff team to begin with?

The frick has happened to this fanbase????

It's become filled with a bunch of pussies, omg why did we schedule a tough team, why can't we play the Jr high down the road instead.

Jesus, I want to see competition, how anyone wants to watch their team best up on basically Jr high teams is astounding.

LSU@Clemson is a big deal on a national scale. No one gaf if we beat Western Kentucky by 2 touchdowns.

We’re not backing out of the game, nor should we, but this antiquated “take on all comers” approach is a waste of time. If we hadn’t scheduled this game already and had a choice of playing Clemson or WKU, a thousand percent we should play WKU. Has nothing to do with “manning up” and everything to do with strategy in making the playoff. Long story short: big non conference games don’t mean shite to anyone anymore except a few fans. They can deal with it.

This. These people are becoming more annoying than those who perpetually start "Fire Brian Kelly" threads.

just take these tough out of conference games off our schedule

Then watch when we miss the playoff because we were one of the teams on the bubble for the final at-large spot and miss out because another team had a better resume thanks to an extra quality win in an OOC game. LSU fans would be pissed that we missed the CFP because we were afraid to schedule decent opponents.

The people complaining about the Clemson series are the same ones who complain about how bad it looks for the LSU brand / recruiting to see Tiger Stadium about 70% full at kickoff and 30% full at the end of the 3rd quarter because fans would rather think they can beat traffic than to stick around and watch our backups come in for mop up duty in a blowout against an FCS team.

Or that they keep raising season ticket prices but give us all crappy OOC games that season ticket holders end up selling for well below face value or giving away.

Dumb viewpoint to have. I guess a lot of people on this board like losing.

I would not be surprised to see SEC schools start to removing OOC games off their schedule soon.

I think what you are going to see happen, likely after next season, is the CFP field will be expanded to 14 or 16 to include the teams like Alabama, Ole Miss, or South Carolina this year who faced a tougher schedule than teams like Indiana, SMU, Notre Dame. That will give teams a larger margin for error and, in theory, encourage them to schedule better OOC opponents.

I'm NOT saying I agree with that approach (I don't), but that will almost assuredly be the "accommodation"

Nope. I remember when we were winning these.

It isn't Clemson's fault our 10M a year coach can't properly game plan or win a season opener.
