The SEC Won't Exist in 5 Years

Nobody cares if Sankey is disappointed in LSU's Fed Court filing. The SEC did nothing while amateur football was systematically dismantled, and now the SEC wants to put their foot down because 2 players signed contracts but never played an NFL down. Complete clown show.

The SEC ceased to exist when they let Texas and Oklahoma in. They should just change the name to mega conference one and declare independence from the NCAA thus hastening its demise.

I think a mega conference with divisions like the NFL works. If you win your division you ate in no matter your record. Plus you have wild cards. And the schedule is all or maybe 10 games within the conference. Each school in your division has basically the same schedule. Tv is happy because no
more small school games. if you lose a game is doesn’t kill you.

"Amateur" football was going to die eventually. It was inevitable. The entire college football hierarchy did nothing.
Instead of getting out in front of it by implementing a reasonable approach to NIL and establishing rules, they fought the idea of some kid being to get paid for signing footballs at a sporting goods store, or appearing in an ad for a restaurant, etc. No, they had to try to keep their foot on the necks of kids.
In the absence of rules, boosters formed "collectives" which were shells for play for pay.
The greed of the NCAA and colleges is what shattered the myth of the amateur athlete. It should have been replaced with some common sense.
Revenue sharing was also inevitable.
The congressional plan is not going to solve anything. It's just grandstanding.

College Football needs to go away and become true minor league/development teams of the NFL. It’s pro football, get ride of the lie that these are scholarships/athletes. Let the colleges run girls flag football or touch football. Conferences and the NCAA are useless.

The State and AG are petitioning to dismiss the law suit, not LSU per se. I think that is a distinction that matters in this context, especially in the public narrative. It''s not LSU.

And give indemnity to the NCAA and Conferences to act and do what they want....like kick out members indiscriminately without repercussion. They (NCAA and Conferences) already proved they can't handle this responsibility objectively and equitably for any of the stakeholders.
