OU/Tex makes me think of our permanent opponents.

We could count on these three big games every year. And they were fun. Granted some heartache. But still got:
Alabama
Auburn
Florida
And yes we get them
Every other year.
And yes you can count on more wins than losses for:
Ole Miss ( a true circus for the next 2 or 3 years, but after that)
Atm
Arkansas.
But the Texas OU crowd is lit. We could court on millions watching us for these games.
Classics are made out of those former big games. If we make classics out of Ole Miss/ Aggy/ Arky, then we are falling.
At the very least, I was counting on the sec letting LSU start a rivalry with OU for a huge rivalry weekend game. But we got Arkansas instead.

Agree.
But for those getting ready tk say “ Get off my lawn”, I just want to say,
I’m defending g having a harder record for millions of views.
I guess most can defend their position for an easier schedule.
I prefer the former.
And there were writers and fans who definitely wanted to cheapskate on easier schedules like Billy Gomilla. He was a staunch opponent of the Florida game. But that game was awesome. And he wanted to get rid of it due to an easy schedule.

I prefer the schedule as it is now. In a 4-year cycle, we host every SEC team and play at every SEC team.
Teams like Auburn and Florida are no more important to me than OMiss or Texas A&M.
