If Leavitt is bad again next week we have to play Clark for 2027

We're 25% into this season and Leavitt has been just bad, terrible in the passing game. He can't read a defense and is an incredibly slow processor. He's in an easy offense and is still showing he lacks the mental ability to run an offense. Then we get to his passing, which is also bad. Inaccurate, bad mechanics, bad footwork, and he continuously gets his balls tipped.
He's shown to be nothing more than a scramble merchant.
What scares me is that he's eligible for 2027 and he's clearly not going to be a threat to get drafted high. If Leavitt is bad again next week, we need to see what Clark has because we need to start our 2027 QB evaluations. We can't run the risk of getting stuck with Leavitt again and throwing away 2027. We have Clark and then Longstreet to evaluate to hopefully avoid this scenario. If neither work, we scrap it and go back to the drawing board and start over in 2027.

Jayden Daniels and Burrow both started off shaky. I think people need to relax and give him a few games to settle.

He’s had 3 years to “settle” and complete what should be fairly simple short to intermediate throws.

Don't insult them by comparing them to Leavitt
In Burrow's firs game against Miami he showed full command of the offense. He was calling out audibles and adjustments at the line that led to important plays.
Leavitt can't read a defense or process. He couldn't at ASU and he's shown the same mental issues here.

Personally, I saw a lot of growth from him. He is still getting his game playing legs back underneath him. He didn't play last year so he is a bit rusty. I trust our coach knows way more than we do.

Like I said in another thread, this is like the Les Miles era where flaws were apparent but positigers kept ignoring them.
It's all but impossible to fix accuracy or mental processing. Burrow had both. Daniels had both.
Leavitt is playing like Jordon Jefferson had he been given a modern offense to run.

It’s the same as idiot GMs that keep drafting big inaccurate college QBs thinking they will turn into the next Josh Allen
For the extreme majority game processing and accuracy doesn’t drastically improve

It’s not really about ignoring flaws, but I don’t think you should boot Leavitt from the position so soon. Sometimes you have to be patient and see how things play out.
There were positives from last night. This team showed grit. Ole Miss is good this year, and they came back from a seventeen point deficit to nearly win on the road in the SEC.
There is potential there.
