I don't expect perfection, but holy shite it was fricking inexcusable how bad they got torched.

I know all DCs have problems w/ mobile QBs, but is there any high profile, high paid DC who has more problems w/ them than Blake Baker?

Man I really don’t see this as the defense played bad. Chambliss is no doubt the best QB in the country and he just made plays. It happens sometimes and that doesn’t mean our defense sucks.

Trinidad did NOT win because he was mobile.

He won because our offense sucks.

I get the gameplan was to contain, but that needed to be scrapped after Ole Miss’ 3rd drive and they kept it up for the whole 1st half.

Chief could have easily contained Trinidad.

Half the conference has dual threat QBs. There’s really no excuse not to prepare for them.

It was the same exact defense from last year. Zero improvement. Typical baker defense.

Yes, yes he did. Why do you think Baker was in a damn near prevent defense for most of the game?

First half the defense was on the field damn near the entire half because we kept going 3 and out on offense. Second half defense played very well. Trinidad just made more plays than you. That’s the difference a WB as good as him can make. It sucks but you just gotta tip your hat to him.

So you think Prevent D is how you defend a mobile QB?

Nevermind, bro....

Trinidad had 9 rushes for 2 yards. He did not beat us by running the ball. He is great at extending plays, yes. He did not beat us by running the way our defense has struggled in the past.

I'm talking about the DC. Everyone saw how well the defense was doing in the 2nd half when Baker decided to send more pressure. Everyone saw how horrible the defense got torched, constantly, when rushing only 3 or 4.

Yes, you will get hit every now and then by blitzing more, but it seems ANY time LSU did that stupid 8 man drop, Chambliss feasted. I mean, we could ALL see it.

Bruh his extended plays were from his running ability. That’s dual threat.

they executed fine...

the gameplan, scheme, and situational playcalling was SEVERELY lacking...

it was pretty clear as day that when we brought pressure, Chambliss was not as effective.... when we got away from that, after tying the game, that's when he started going off again...

it's not rocket science... make him make quick decision, get the ball out of his hands, and your chances of an errant throw and/or turnover increase drastically...

I’m not saying Trinidad is not a dual threat QB, I am saying that the game plan took away the QB rushing which is what our defense has struggled with in the past and everyone bitches about “the Blake baker defense”. They give up 2 rushing yards and you are saying he still sucks at scheming a defense to stop a running QB?

News flash guys, Trinidad is really fricking good and mobile. Yes, he is going to extend plays, that is what makes him hard to stop. Every defense in America is going to struggle with him this year.

None of them will be out there looking off defenders with his eyes or throwing Drew Brees like dimes in coverage. Also, he was getting the ball out early the majority of the time. Nothing you can do about that. The game was lost because of the slow offensive start, Leavitt's inconsistent passing & a predictable play call on 3rd down on the second to last drive out of formation & personnel grouping that was already used in the first half.

Wait until you see the PFF grades for this game. Execution wasn’t as crisp or consistent as it should have been.
