1 yard and LSU is sitting pretty in the top 10 with 2 winnable games before the bye and the tough stretch run with Tredez hopefully back.
1 yard and you get your first road win as the new Tigers head coach
But no. You doubt yourself. Who are you? With the pass call on 3rd and 10 coming up short I had no doubt that LSU was going to be creative and get that yard.
NOPE. Instead you call timeout after running some trick motions and stuff and call out the punt team.
What the hell would it have mattered if you didn’t get it. Kentucky with a short field in the second half struggled to move the ball. Probably looking at OT anyways.
Instead you Billboard Will Stein and the Kentucky Wildcats their game of the century.
PATHETIC. Les Miles 100% goes for it right there. Put Duece in, run an end around, swing Leavitt out with a sweep, power I, whatever.
This is why LSU paid him all that money for a decision like that? This is the same guy that called the TD pass against Aggie to literally put the game away?
1 yard. That’s all LSU needed.
1 yard. It was one of those games Lane. WAKE UP. You are the head coach at LSU. Bring LSU BACK!!!!!!!

Our defense played well in the 2nd half up to that point. We supposedly have a good defense. I think its defensible to punt there and ask for 1 more stop. If your DC is what the stats say.

No this game was up and down and your on the road you go for the 1 yard and if you make it game over and if not same situation as the punt but just less field for the Wildcats to score. We were lucky they missed the two field goals. We also could not run the football and were beat at the line of scrimmage all night long O line is still weak as pudding We probably lose two or three more games if we play like this going forward.

I agree we did not deserve to win the way we played but one yard and we steal a win

In a hostile environment, when a play can win you the game, YOU TAKE IT..
specially if that play can not automatically lose you the game.
We used a well designed run play later in the game going to the left side...
We had the play, just not the balls for it.
This next part is not so cut/dry...but,
we also should have known that Stein would go for two and that going for one could leave the door open.....
same identical score from the week before... WE HAD HISTORY...

I really hoped after Les Miles I would never see gutless decisions like this again.
I wonder if it was Kiffins call or did someone else get in his ear?
