Positive: he doesn't have any bad habits
Negative: he doesn't have any experience
A big plus is he will only be 30 when he graduates, that is good right?

This kid was an amazing baseball player and took a shot at the pros. Considering we have had some success with former baseball players at QB, I say good luck to him here. Glad he's finally getting into the school I wish he would've attended for baseball.

Hell sign the water boy up too!!!!!

I'm all for ZVR. Bring him in, bring Tanner Lee in, bring Lindsey Scott Jr or any other QB that wants in, in. Eventually we will hit on one that will lead LSU to a championship.

How could anyone be negative about this? Big time athlete that doesn't cost us a scholarship...... Worst case scenario is he gives guidance and maturity to the kids as well as perspective about the difficulty of playing professional sports. Best case scenario, he turns into a home run at qb.

Its mind boggling.....but I guess so...

If you think about it, QBs coming outta high school kinda start fresh learning our "offense".... The guy will have much more maturity and work ethic than most outta high school, he has two years minimum to learn before ever having to even compete for a job, couldn't hurt, it damn sure couldn't hurt

You want a guy that never played QB in high school to be LSU's QB?

So glad this guy will be on the team instead of the Gatorade POTY
What are you talking about? ZVR was the Gatorade POTY in 2009. Albeit was baseball LOL

So a failed minor league player that once was a punter but never played football at a level close to LSU football could be big?
And you this how? You gotta be this kids father right?

But how much desire does he have?

Zack wanted to help his football team any way he could. QB was one option with his arm, height, and athleticism. However, the coach at the time ran mostly an option offense and it was the short stop Hernandez who was already the QB and was a better suited for running the offense. Also, the baseball coaches knew Zack had a future of either college or pro baseball ahead of him, as well as his final year of HS ball and didn't want him to risk getting hurt.
A very competitive and humble athlete.

If you are going to down vote me on the recruiting board, at least offer a rebuttal

His greatest value is in having a punter that can throw the ball. The Mad Hatter must love this.
Make no mistake, a greenie can develop nicely into, say, an olineman, dlineman, or maybe a receiver of sorts. BUT, he will NOT transition to a QB at an elite level program with zero background at the position. Cannot happen. Will not happen.
Beyond the rosey bullshite, that's the reality.

Isn't it mind blowing that people could actually think he's the next big thing?
Posted on 1/19/16 at 6:27 am to Ed Osteen
Considering so many here honestly think they could direct a Power 5 football team with zero experience coaching, nope.
I really like the Scott Kidd too, but there is a reason no one in the SEC has offered him. BUT, if NSD hits and we have no one else, he is worth a shot. Kid is fricking smart and athletic.
