Zachary Hess, RHP, commits to LSU. He is from Lynchburg, Va.

Built like a truck, Hess is an appropriate name for this 6-foot-6 righthander. He throws from a deceptive lower three-quarters arm slot and generates heavy life on his fastball, which operated comfortably at 91-94 and touched 95 early. When his slider was on, it featured above-average bite and 10-to-4 shape. Hess consistently pounded the back foot of lefthanded hitters with his slider, and the late break on the pitch made it very difficult for hitters to lay off.

Will he make it to campus? How is he projected?

Really hard to get excited about baseball recruiting until they actually show up and are part of this team. I so wish they would change the rules and duplicate the NFL for basketball and baseball.

That's what I was thinking

Nice, he must have some odd wrist flexibility to get that kind of bite on his slider.

Throws it behind his back maybe?

How can you pull up the perfect game player rankings and list of school commits? Is it a paid thing?

I would love to see what this kid can do with a whiffle ball. 10-4-10 shape?

Yeah. I think pretty much everything but the profiles and maybe one of the top lists is behind a paywall. They still let you see the commitment though, which is great.
D1 Baseball is doing a lot of reporting on commitments as well. I don't think it's behind a paywall, but I'm subscribed, so I don't pay that much attention.

Are you paying for the subscription?

We have a serious class coming in next year... We just have to hope not too many sign their contracts bc they definitely gonna get drafted

Excited to have the kid commit, but if he's already hitting low to mid 90s, not to mention his size, he's a long shot at best to make it to campus. Plus being from out of state, I'm not very optimistic.

We will have a lot of these guys this class. It will be a fight until the MLB signing deadline

Sounds good. The more that commit, the better the odds some will actually make it to campus. Having Coach Dunn certainly helps.
