Look, I say this all the time when people get excited about a commit for a class 2 or 3 years down the road, and I get told to chill out.

So chill out

It's definitely solely because of Raymond. We are competing against the money schools for these kids.

Raymond is a major part due to his history of development(last few years an anamoly?) and he's a good recruiter. He also gets a lot of help from Baker, Wilson and Olson.
We are a money school. If we weren't competing with the money schools then that would be a problem. Our NIL game is strong when we choose for it to be. We can go toe to toe with anyone on an individual basis.
Would wait on the apologies. The same flips we get could go a different direction in the fall. We whip, they whip. Pickett in particular is not gonna be a quiet recruitment.

And in all fairness, he is doing better now than I think he ever did before. Leaving and coming back seemed to have lit a fire in him, or at least rekindled it.

A lot of the criticism I’ve seen of him, and tend to somewhat agree, is his coaching. CRay is a helluva recruiter, and maybe had some burnout later last time he was here, but few argue his recruiting. It’s his coaching that I see most of the criticism.

He has an incredible opportunity to silence the haters if he. Ames our DB room look somewhat competitive this year.

We didn’t lose anyone yet. I think we go get all these kids. I guess we can now afford to load up with all these DB recruits. Anding, Antoine, Williams and Bradford. Some of these are pure safeties and some can play inside and outside so we’d have a ton of versatility!! Get em all!!

Even then, it would be premature to issue apologies. Even with these great commits.
It's great, in fact, essential to have top recruits.
But top DB coaches are expected to... well... coach those players and develop them. Part of the knock on CR is that his coaching skills have been suspect, especially in the last few years.

You're not from Louisiana, are you?

Look he got a few kids to commit, but other than that, he hasn't done anything. Sure, that's half the battle on the recruiting side, but he still needs to close on these guys. Then there's actually coaching them up. It's easy when you have some of the guys he's had, but he's going to have to prove himself coaching this year. The backfired isn't filled with All-Americans this time.
