Leesville RB Ford. Just watched him against EDW. Insane, never thought Holly’s record would be broke.

How is he related to Michael Ford? I mean he has to be, right?

Was about to ask as well. Same town, same last name.

Sign him or he will go to Tenn and we will regret it.

Congrats to the kid. Great accomplishment but He is not SEC talent. The kid is good bruising back that can shed some tackles and gets yards after contact but not game changing make you miss RB. He got most of his yards last night in 4th qtr after EDW took out the starting defense.

Truth be told, they let him have the ball almost every carry down 41-7 against EDWhite backups on that last drive to get him the record. He was held in check (by his standards) up until that point. He probably had close to 40 carries. His workload is borderline abusive.
He's big for a HS back, and hard to bring down. He has an effective little cutback that doesnt lose speed, he accelerates to the edge well, and he bounces off of tackles. Not sure how that translates at the next level.

Holly has the career record. Ford broke the single season rushing record previously held by Cedric Skinner

My crew had his game against BTW last week. He’s good but would never see the field with our running back room.

Didn’t realize that. Thanks for clearing it up. EDW did shut him down but I’m glad they let the kid get the record at the end of the game.

Did he break Holly's record? I think he successfully broke the single-season rushing record of 3,437 set by Cedric Skinner of Oberlin in 2010.
The unofficial numbers I saw showed he had 3444 yards for the season and 8,569 yards for his career. For his career, that still puts him behind Trey Holly, who has 10,524 yards, Nick Brossette, who has 8708 yards, Kenny Hilliard, who has 8661 yards, and Harlem Berry, who has 8571 yards. Note that Holly and Brossette both played high school varsity as 8th graders, and those stats are counted in.
All those guys were signed by LSU and Berry is in this class but his HS finished their playoff run last week.
