I think that we are not ranked higher is even more shocking.

As long as Saban is there Rivals thinks he only signs 4 and 5 star players. It's hard not to notice Rivals love for Bama. I really don't think they evaluate or elevate the other teams recruits like they do Bama. Look at Landry in the game yesterday and he is a 4 at best. You heard the talk about how Johnson was a man amoung boys in practice and the game and he is a 4 star. How can Rivals get the respect of the from fans other than Bamas? Randal was all over the field making tackles and he's a 3 star.

How can The ESPN List be SOOOO diff. Rivals has Oregon at 7 and the worldwide leader doesn't have them in the top ten. What is all this based on? Is it the star ratings, size of class or what?

Not on Scout either.

We have a higher opinion of our class than the guys that do it for a living. Not that it means anything

As long as we don't have a #1 ranking, this class will never underachieve.

LSU's class is slightly underwhelming based on the amount of hype on this board for the past year. 3.42 average and ranked under Oregon and Clemson? Meh, color me unimpressed

I would not trade our class with freak, mett, Collins, and rasco for any other class out there. I don't care what we are ranked.

We lost a couple guys we thought we would have, and some guy are not ranked as high as everyone thought they would be (or probably should be). To this point Johnson is the only #1 DT on Rivals that wasn't a five star dating back to 2002.

Clemson is rated in the top 10 in recruiting every year, if there is anyone to be unimpressed by, it's their coaching staff.

Whatever happened to the Rivals' promise of Turner being a 4 star? His stats shouldn't mean anything since he won't be a QB at LSU. At the Hoover 7 on 7 Rivals said straight up he would be a 4 star.

Looking at the guys LSU has and looking at who will wrap up the class... I think LSU finishes 4th or 5th.

It's only setting the gumps up for a meltdown. Will they accept three losses this year and AT LEAST three next year?

Rivals was started by Alabama alum. Im friends with a guy who owns one of the team rival sites. He said Alabama Rivals site brings in 1,000,000 a month profit. When a kid signs or is offered by Alabama they will get bumped up. It's all about the revenue.

By Alabama, you mean a Libscomb grad. He sold the site to Yahoo four years ago. He now owns 247 Sports.

The proof is in the pudding. If Alabama's prospects are so overrated, why is Alabama 36-5 over the last three seasons? Why are three of those "overrated" prospects leaving early for the NFL, and projected as first rounders?

There have been a few.. shall we say.. odd coincidences with Alabama recruits. Mostly it's just people being dumb.

Alabama recruits are no more overrated than the LSU ones. I don't know why people spew it.. fear I guess.

you just made his point for him. Those highly-rated underclassmen stepped up and we still won 10 games despite losing 9 starters on D this year.
