So I don't think these are just camp offers. I haven't heard of LSU offering that many players from any other school EVER.

Not sure exactly how many were offered, but 4 from the 2002/2003 John Curtis class signed with LSU and I know 1 more (Ryan Watson) was offered but went to USC. I thought Jason Spadoni was a member of that class but LINK list him as a 2002 recruit.

This is wrong. The only place Locksley did generate excitement is in Maryland. He was hired to lock down places like St. Frances.

Doesn't sound like it would be exciting to me.

From the Baltimore Sun:

New Mexico: Locksley was the head coach from 2009 to 2011 and finished with a record of 2-26. He was fired four games into the 2011 season. His tenure was marked by off-the-field issues. In 2009, he got into an altercation with an assistant coach and was suspended for 10 days. Also that year, Locksley was accused of age discrimination and sexual harassment by a former administrative assistant, who filed a complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Locksley countered with a defamation lawsuit, and the complaint was dropped.

Maryland: Locksley, who was the offensive coordinator, was hired as interim coach after Randy Edsall was fired. Locksley had a record of 1-5 as interim coach. His one win came in the final game of the season against Rutgers. After the season, Maryland hired DJ Durkin.

Comments from another article:

If this is the best Maryland can do it’s because anyone else who’s remotely qualified for a head coaching position knows better than to go anywhere near that mile-high pile of toxic waste in College Park. Imagine how many phone calls to potential candidates went unreturned.

I see your point but perhaps we’ve found the exception to the rule? Seems like Maryland is more desperate for a coach than a coach desperate for Maryland otherwise they could have found someone with a shitty record but without the luggage. I dunno.

From the article:
"“Locksley became upset about [Gerald’s] response to questions concerning a play in [a loss against Air Force] and began shouting at him and other coaches,” according to a lawsuit later filed by Gerald, which also included allegations of a hostile work environment.

Locksley then attacked Gerald, “pinning him to his chair and choking him,” the lawsuit said. Other coaches in the room pulled Locksley and Gerald apart, but while Gerald was restrained, Locksley broke free and struck him in the face several times, according to the lawsuit.?

Locksley was suspended for 10 days without pay, and Gerald received a $25,000 settlement. Another notable incident came in July 2010 when he allegedly confronted a student reporter at a local bar and shouted profanities about the media."

That's interesting because his hire is extremely comparable to one you'd defend the shite out of.

About 1200 miles to the NORTHEAST, but Baltimore is located in the Mid-Atlantic(not the Northeast) and I live 2 hours south of Baltimore and have since 2006, so the West Monroe reference is irrelevant.

Not to be that guy, but since you want to be captain correction...

You post a link describing a company’s (Amazon) region as evidence? Maryland is below the Mason Dixon line, which contrived the term “Dixie”. States below the line are considered the south.

Yes, that's an impressive number. If a coach that had never been to IMG showed up he could easily offer 9-10 kids. Probably the same at other dominant schools across the country like Mater Dei, Bosco, or even UHigh. Hopefully we pull a few of them.
