...though Mississippi State and Texas A&M are both still trying to pull him.

The bet here is that's who Wade will finish with.

Can't find any tape of him at Western Kentucky, but here's his high school tape. He's pretty good in that tape.

Numbers weren't great as a freshman - 3.3 and 2.6 with 0.3 blocks. But he shot 58.3 percent from the floor, which isn't bad, and he only played 10 minutes a game.

This is a developmental guy. But the size is definitely there, and he's athletic enough to be an SEC big with work.

The problem we've had the last two years is not having enough bigs on the roster who we can keep year to year and develop. Wade will have solved that problem if he finishes with this kid, because we'll have three developmental bigs we can bring along.

His freshman stat line is nothing to get excited about but at least Arkansas, Mississippi state and A&M all want him which means there's more there probably.

It's hard to generate much in the way of stats when you're only playing 10 minutes a game. You're not in there long enough to get into the flow of a game, so that generally results in fouls and turnovers, which this guy had a lot of.

Kid has plenty to work with.

I trust Wade here.

Well he played behind Charles Bassey.
He put in good numbers only playing 10m per game.

And Bassey pulled his name out of the NBA draft, and decided to return to WKU. Smith would be behind him again, which likely played a big role in his transfer.

Bassey was a 5 star recruit and was CUSA freshman and defensive player of the year.

Played behind Charles Bassey, the #2 center and #6 overall player in the 2018 class

Based off the link shared by kingofthepoint, looks like KBW averaged 3 PPG in his first year.

Yeah on a kid like this don’t look at the stat line look at who is recruiting him.

He can't help us until 2020. He will have to sit out a year. His announcement to enter the transfer portal was on Aug 2 this year.

That's for the best. He needs a redshirt year to develop. He apparently had a big growth spurt in high school.

We don't really need him until 2020. We have Watford, Emmitt Williams, Days, Cooper and Thomas to give us a post rotation now.

Let this kid marinate in the system for a year and he'll be a nice piece for us. In two years he'll be our starting center and likely do a hell of a job.

We need a rim protector for 2019 or our national upside will be limited. That horse has left the barn. With the current roster we will be very good but not great. Too many of the tough games on the road are decided on the boards and interior defense. Still going to be a good and fun year.

Thomas averaged 1.7 blocks a game in only 15 minutes a game of action in JUCO. He can protect the rim pretty well.

As can Cooper.

We're better than you think in that regard.

Very tight time frame on this kid committing. I don't think he has visited yet, but I could be wrong. He's originally from the Mississippi Gulf Coast and has a brother playing in New Orleans, I think for Xavier, so he could've snuck over for a quick visit.

However, if he has not, then he's running out of time.

LSU does not return from Spain until Aug. 22 and the semester starts Aug. 26.

Late registration is a few days after that, so he would have basically a 7-10 days after the team returns from Spain to visit, decide, enroll.

I think I saw somewhere that he has already visited.
