Baytiger and mountain tiger came through with this one

Baytiger gets all the credit for finding the thread. I just left the link behind in the other one.

Which brings up a question. If we have to bail on this one, how do we move to a new one without tipping off the admins?

I don't think the admins really care, so long as the masses stay out

I'm ready for Cam's offense. Mett and Hill will both benefit

I'm bumped two old threads so far and neither has been anchored. My suggestion is that each one of us bumps a couple of old threads until we find one that is anchored

It's not that I'm that excited about Cameron specifically.
1. I, and I think most of us, are just ready for something different.
2. I think just about any NFL coordinator is better than just about any NCAA coordinator. This is especially true of Stud.
3. If he really has Les's trust, then Les won't be as tempted to "meddle" in the playcalling.

I wouldn't expect that the offense would be that much different. I would expect that the creativity and the rhyme and reason for plays will be better.

With our offense as it is, there isn't any creativity. They want to line up and not give a shite about whether or not the D knows whats coming. Power football is nice and all but we play in the league with largely the best defenses in the sport. You've got to be able to disguise whats coming and also mix it up effectively. That's what excites me about the thought of a REAL experienced OC like Cam coming in. I'm fine with the base offense that we run. Its the (in)effectiveness with which its being run thats the problem. So I guess to sum up this long post, I'm hoping that we see more creative schemes and plays that are called based on whats happening with the defense.

I think redfield is right, we most likely won't need it. But just in case, I bookmarked it.

Let me ask that a different way. What obstacles exist that could prevent the hire now that the Jets hired Marty M? I suppose a different NFL team could come calling. Maybe they can't agree on money. What else?

Several things, some you may have touched on...

(1) Money isn't right. And you may say how can money not be right. Well cam would have to move and now have to become a recruiter. College football is like an 11 month job.

(2) Schematically Les and Cam can't come to an agreement

(3) Les simply has a change of heart.

(4) Someone snags Cam first. (Who? I have no clue)

But I still feel good about it. Prolly a day or 2 after the bash I can tell you guys FOR SURE either way what will happen.

Couldn't agree more hoohoo. In the NFL everything has to be multiple. You have to be able to run the same play out of a lot of different looks and a lot of different plays from the same look. That way nobody knows what's coming. College football is not as complex as the NFL but nevertheless the more multiple you can be the better your chance of success.

Like I said, I actually like the offense that we run as far as the basis on the power run game. You look at what Alabama does and it's essentially the same thing except their offense is worlds more effective than ours. I hate to be the LSU fan that compares our team to Alabama but I think the offense they use is what, in a perfect world, LSU's should look like. Both offenses focus heavily on a power running game. That is, to line up behind a big offensive line and gash the D.

Where we differ and where our offense is lacking is in the ability to effectively mix in a passing game as well as using play action off the great running game. Remember that play action deep ball from Lee to Beckham (correct me if it wasnt Beckham) during the WVU game last year? What a perfect play. A team that pounds the ball like LSU in theory should be able to utilize a good PA pass several times a game. But I don't remember seeing a whole lot of it this year.
